Just bought two raw copies...one looks like an 8 or 9 and the other looks better than my PSA 9 does. It measures up and all...if I can score a 10 on this, I'll be pretty damned happy.

I mentioned this earlier but about halfway through the month now and still just 11K's in his last 61 plate appearances. Those are the type of numbers you want to see when someone is perceived to be "struggling". As long as you are seeing the ball and making contact, the hits will come.

For some reason, Topps cut the 2019 Topps Update SPs & SSPs with 1970s O-Pee-Chee wires. It's always most visible on the card's "top" edge (if you're looking at the photo correctly).

Of course, that brought out all the armchair card doctors and a lot of the SSPs ended up getting a haircut. I wouldn't touch a "gem mint" slabbed version of Vlad in the dugout for anything. Not saying there aren't gems out there, just saying the risk versus reward on them is SO far apart.

Many pro and anti Vlad takes I’ve seen recently are kind of myopic. It’s not just about this year. It’s about the ability he’s demonstrating at 22. Kid has a BRIGHT future.

The allegiance of the masses rises and falls with each game for the 18/19 young superstuds. Lots of dollars being thrown around and anxiety and elation both set in rapidly.

Good to see Vladdy back in the top 5 in batting average again! I actually like to see the consistency more than the gaudy power numbers, but I do hope he sends a few more over the wall soon. Tatis is gaining on him fast!
