Example: Person has a 0 balance on their account. They send in cards that cost $100 in fees to list. They sell $200 worth of cards

Old way:
Account balance goes -$100
Sales of cards +$200
Balance in account $100
------------------------------------
Cashout after 20% fee $80

New way:
Account balance goes +$100
Listing brings balance to $0
Sales of cards +$200
Balance in account $200
-------------------------------------
Cashout after 20% fee $160
Refunding yourself funds -$100
Total net cashout $60

So basically in the old way of listing I ended up losing out on $20, in the new way of listing I ended up losing out on $40. You are now essentially paying a 20% fee to list your cards and then another 20% fee when you cash out like always. COMC needs to do something to counteract this. What I would like to see happen is to increase the listing cost and completely remove the cashout fee which I know they won't do. Other thought is that they automatically refund you the difference in your account but the problem is they would have to put even more to offset it. So in order for me to get back my $20 in additional expenses I paid to list my cards they would have to put $25 back into my account so when I cashout I get the full $20 back.

I realize this only affects the people that need to upload money to cover the fees but I still think its important to acknowledge.
So they should lend people money interest free and hope those people cards sell .Makes no sense

No I am saying don't charge me a 20% fee on my own money in addition to the other fees they already charge. There are many other ways they can counteract this measure which I already listed. Or secure a credit card on file and if after a certain period of time, say 90 or 120 days if account still negative charge the credit card to bring the account current.

Just leave some money in your account. They are not a bank, they're a business.

Is there a COMC app?

I don't know any business or person for that matter who will do all the work for you and as you make sales little by little you can pay it back.

Hey GOWIFB - I'll send you 200 cards and you can scan and list them on ebay for me and as they sell you can get paid. Keep in mind you still have to keep up with ebay fees, shipping my card, paying for supplies, oh and also any people you have to pay to help you. You might only get a buck or 2 a day but hey I should have you paid off in 3 or 4 month. Cool?

Apparently this concept is very difficult for some people to grasp. There is absolutely no problem with paying COMC up front for their listing fees if that is what they want to do. The problem comes in when withdrawing the money as COMC charges you 20% to get access to your own funds. You have to pay a fee to get back the original money you put in to list the cards in the first place. You are getting charged twice. Why should I have to pay COMC to list my cards and then pay them 20% of my original funds again later? The easiest way for them to correct this would be to just charge 20% of your sales automatically and then not charge a withdraw fee.

Because that's their business model.

I suppose you are ok with Panini charging shipping on their points cards as well? Someone buys a box and doesn't get their advertised hit and then to get it shipped to them they have to pay an additional fee. Is that ok as well since that is Panini's business model? Does no one care about what is ethical anymore?

Apples and oranges. In the case of COMC, since that's what we're talking about - I'm ok with them charging exactly what they say they're going to charge for a given service.

Exactly! This is the agreement you make when you send them cards. The fact that they let people do it is irrelevant and has been corrected as it was a mistake and has said you need the funds for the longest time. There are also at least 2 ways around the additional 20%. 1)Leave the initial $100 in your account for future submissions 2) Buy cards with any and all money and resell on your own for less or keep them in your collection.

The whole point is you're looking at that $100 as your money and it is not, its what you paid them to do the service for you. It was YOUR cards that made you $200. You can just no longer use your cards to pay for their service, they want their money up front now. If you sold the same cards on ebay you would be charged fees on $200 and not on $100. Why should they have to sell your cards to get payment? Especially if they're relying on people to price competitively and not take 2 years to knock $4000 off a $7000 debt.

I understand your concern, 20% is steep, but when compared to the services you're receiving its rather inexpensive and allows a cash flow that otherwise would not be there. It can be expensive to scan, advertise, list, crosslist, and sell a metric F ton of $1 cards. There is a reason the site is as popular as it is, its the easiest, most cost effective option out there for low end cards. Theres a reason you don't see $1 cards for sale everywhere. Its just not cost effective and if you did all this yourself you'd be losing way more than 20% to do it.

Nope, just using my browser on my phone. It is a pretty good mobile site without too many issues. Sometimes it won't load pages properly but I just hit the refresh button and it works after that.

You need to drop this, the mods made their decision.
No one likes it but it's their decision to make.

I thought you weren't able to give best offers on COMC cards listed on eBay?! I evidently just sold a card on eBay for 20% less than what I had it priced for on COMC (13.99 sold for 11.20).

That's how all ebay/amazon sales work. You get 80%, comc takes 20%

My shipment got there today and I'm excited for it to be loaded into the system. I sent in just under 500 cards for the first go around.

Let us know how excited you are six week from now when nothing has been done except get notice that about 60 of them are damaged through no fault of your own...

So have the been uploading everything in "its entirety" recently? I only ask as I have about 5,000 cards due in like 2 weeks, with none uploaded yet (not even damaged).

Hahahaha yes I have read the horror stories on here about damaged cards but I figured I'd give it a shot. The cards were just in boxes anyway and I don't sell on eBay for less than $10 so I don't know how else I would have moved them.

As many have stated before..with all of it's warts..COMC is the best thing out there to get rid of the stuff it too good to thrown in a common or quarter box...but not good enough to sell on Ebay...anything that is real good..I just sell on Ebay...I just sent in another 1500 to COMC...and realize that their carelessness is just part of the cost of business.

Exactly. I'm just trying to get rid of some inventory and trying to get enough in my account to get a couple of cases of 2018 Topps Heritage Baseball. My cards will be between $1-$10.
