Some people are fans of the game and celebrate players they like. Those people don't even enter player threads of players they aren't fans of.

Then there are haters. Those people are miserable human beings.

With a recent BA like that, the only (probably) way to go is up! This cincy team is fun and I am rooting for elly

I hope he does well, I don’t want him to fail. He’s exciting to watch there’/ms no doubt about that. If it’s inappropriate to post objective options or actual stats in a player thread then I apologize

Fun player to watch. Hope he can develop at the plate. I hate Topps for holding him back.

Wasn’t much of a fan, just from the highlights, but very cool seeing the locket he wears with the pic of his parents. Also that relay throw…I’ve never seen a relay laser like that. Madrigal had zero chance as soon as it was let go. Reminds me a bit of Javy Baez, just in the “fun to watch” way. Enjoy it Cincy fans!!

Yeah, he had a relay throw at 99 mph a week or two ago as well. Third base coaches will learn soon enough.

Yeah and he ended up with no more hits but 2 more strikeouts(1-4). Right on pace with the 50% s.o rate for the day. See if they sit big bad Elly against tomorrow’s Lefty like they did 2 nights ago

Like that’s a unicorn. Cardinal prospect Maysn Winn throws up to 100 mph consistently from shortstop. Just a diversion for the “Pump”

You do know he is a switch hitter so does not have to worry about a lefty/lefty matchup, arm side movement… 😉

He's having a great rookie campaign. His prices are high. Don't buy, if you don't believe in him. Enjoy the ride!

Only a matter of time before the freefall in his stuff. A .773 OPS and ~20-25 HR full season pace power is not gonna cut it to sustain these prices

It’s going to be brutal . Been around this game for 22 years and every once in a while the stats turn ugly, people realize he’s not the next Mantle( Swear to God with in the last week one of the reds tv announcers made the comparison. And the hype train is so ridiculous ( I’ve seen popular cards go for 4x CC) once it derails no where to go but down to the point where it even becomes oversold.
Elly is the perfect example . People who just don’t watch the games and just buy on “The next big thing” are going to get slaughtered . It will happen before sept 1st (Especially if they send him back down for fine tuning, which they should as he cannot hit mlb pitching).
It’s a learning experience and I’ve been burned myself but if your going to invest real money you have to do your due diligence. The strikeout issues have plagued him thru all the minors.Heck just one year ago in DAYTON he struck close to 30% of the time . In his 74 games he struck out 94x IN HIGH A. This isn’t something new

If you're not going to just say positive stuff and post only card pictures...find another forum, somewhere else you trolls. Immediate ignore block. I wont even quote you.

I agree on the send down. He needs to figure out how to become smaller at the plate. What I mean is that he's got to make some adjustments so he's not constantly over the top of the ball. His launch angle is one of the worst in the league. Whether than means to lower his core in his stance or whatever it is, it seems like his height is not doing him any favors.

If he's going to get 25 HR and 50 SB, he's not getting sent down. Think Javy Baez.

The Reds aren't going to demote Elly De La Cruz, the city of Cincinnati might cause a riot.

De La Cruz has been fine. He may (or may not!) be the second coming of fill-in-the-blank, but he's certainly shown he's a big leaguer right now. Probably worst case scenario career wise is Alfonso Soriano, who was pretty good.

I think the Reds organization and some of their fans have actual obtainable expectations. Its the media and card market (investors) that have outlandish expectations. He's NOT being sent down.

He’s not even the best rookie on the team . Could make arguments he’s not even 2nd best.
