I wish more people used sportlots. People complain all the time about eBay and want a competitor... well one exists and the fees are MUCH better.

Seriously though, I just keep on running into disadvantages here. Apparently buyers have 17 days to pay. Then of course you have to wait until the end of the month to get paid. So you could have an auction end on December 15 and not receive the Paypal funds until the end of January - meanwhile fronting the shipping cost, etc. I know this is how all of Sportlots works but it's a pretty big tradeoff from other avenues. /pityparty

Haha just being honest. Most people pay pretty quickly but being paid once a month hurts, especially with shipping items. However, I made $800 last month and all I sold were superstar base, inserts, and a few sets. Just gotta know what sells.

Interesting. I think I can move some refractor lots again with a minimum bid right at the floor of where I would break even + $1 for the featured fee. You are right about the current superstars selling pretty well, seems that way in football also.

I sold a refractor lot maybe two years ago. Just semi stars maybe a star or two. Got 15 cents a card so I was happy. Lots will do okay. But don't have it be bigger than 250 cards or so.

Well after a very long time thinking about it, I took the plunge a few days ago and went to free box shipping for any order over 16 cards to hopefully ramp box sales up a bit. That same day I got a 31 card box order that I may not have gotten in the past.

It would be nice if, during their upgrades, sportlots would add a message board to the site so sellers could let buyers know about any changes that we make to our inventory and/or shipping policies.

I actually really like this idea. Might give it a try when things slow down. Have had some pretty big order the last couple months, including one order that was 199 cards.

You might as well go all in, and make it free shipping for all box orders! Ha!

I just now realized I had a positive feedback with a negative comment from an auction. Best I can tell revisiting my photos on my phone, it's not true, though. They delete auctions so I can't go back and read the description to see if I screwed something up. I've reached out to the buyer to try to resolve. Can buyers revise feedback? Very frustrating as I'm trying to build my seller profile.

Buyers can not see what's written so I wouldn't worry about it. I'm not saying that you shouldn't try to find out where it possibly went wrong with your customer, I'm just saying that revising the feedback really isn't necessary.

Thanks, didn't realize obviously. Surprised he didn't leave a neutral. But, another case of wishing they'd reach out with an issue.

On Sportlots, I’ve never looked at a seller’s rating/feedback. I assume it’s possible but it’s not something that is of interest. Not sure if most are like me or not though.

Been filling a lot of large orders for Stadium Club over the last couple months. Sent two premium shipping packages off yesterday with just over a 100 cards between the two of them.

Hmmm... I see some merit to this idea. I went ahead and dropped all of my shipping rates to try and attract some larger orders.

Was able to resolve the issues with my buyer and put out a custom lot for him to buy!

I think I've found a sweet spot on low end refractor lots with minimum bids and a few current star RCs (still running so we'll see how it pans out).

I've been tempted to toss a few items out into the normal Sportlots inventory and see what happens, but I feel like I'm already spread pretty thin between eBay, Blowout, Facebook (ugh), other forums, etc. to keep up with what cards are listed on what platform. I'm just not organized enough yet.

Two week update:
That 31 card sale I reported 2 weeks ago has been the only one to take advantage of my free box shipping for orders over 16 cards.

I'm a frequent buyer of cards on Sportlots. I've never used the "box" feature.

Can someone give me the Cliff Notes version of how it works and how long it takes to get my cards?

Basically you play a lower rate to ship from each seller. As such they don't ship as quickly as premium shipping, but rather something like once every 7-10 days in batches. Once all of your orders arrive at your BOX, you can then request shipping from there for one fee. You'll receive a package with all of the smaller packages inside.

In the past, I have kept all orders in my box for 6-9 months, and then requested a large shipment. Saves a ton on shipping - all it requires is a bit of patience.

Just to emphasize, BOX shipping is much slower from the seller to the box though. Expect 7-10 days before shipment rather than 1-2 for premium. Feel free to message me with any other questions.

So it could take 2 weeks or so for each seller to ship the cards to the "box".

Then how long does it take for Sportlots to ship them once shipment is requested for all items in my box?

The 2 weeks is usually the longest, but yes. And then Sportlots ships to you from request to your door in about a week. Seems like a long time for a single order, but if you save up orders, I find it great because then I can get a ton of orders shipped cheap (last time it was 6 months worth of orders), and makes for a fun and nice malady to go through.

Thanks for the info. Sometimes I'm in a hurry to get the cards and sometimes I'm not.

Sounds like I should start using the box when I'm not in a hurry.

That's the right approach. You just have to be careful on each seller's shipping rate. Based on my experience you need close to $1 difference between Budget and Box for it to be worth it, but I also don't buy high volumes of cards.
