In NYC, the Mediaid has more problem than the food stamp. A legal immigrant is allowed to have Medicaid since Day 1. Most states have 5 years waiting period. This is a big reason why people go to NYC in the first landing.

I agree with this 100%. There are white Americans who were mad are still mad that Obama is in office. Racism exists in every race not only whites. I would never vote for someone for the color of there skin, but others due.

The other side of illegal employment and welfare. The company I work for has a very large hispanic work force (300+). I had to translate for HR one day and the lady wanted to change her dependent status to 6. 6!!! I know that she only has 2 kids. When we walked out of the office I asked her why she would want to do that and she said that if she doesn't then they will deduct too many taxes. I couldn't believe it. Here I am paying over 10k in federal income tax a year while she cheats the system and pays nothing. How many millions of people working in the US do that?

I assume she is illegal but they have documents that make it through the i-9 check so there is nothing we can do about it. They are obviously using a fake number, not paying in, and not submitting 1040s. Use it for a few years. Wash and repeat.

Not disagreeing at all. It sucks.

It's wrong, should be stopped, etc.

BUT. I also think that the American born citizens who do this are underlooked.

I know of many families who do this, who are born here, white, look down on Mexicans who work as janitors, landscapers, and busboys/girls, who don't work. Collect benefits. LOVE foodstamps/welfare.

The problem is the SYSTEM, not just the people who use (AND ABUSE) it.

I don't want to be on opposite sides of ANY spectrum from any person who loves this wonderful country.

I was born here. As was my mother. My grandmother. My great-grandmother.


My father was/is an illegal immigrant who has been deported more than a dozen times. I don't know him.

With that said, I personally know more GREAT illegal immigrants than BAD ones.

It may not be the norm, but this allows me to see both ends of the spectrum.

I want MY beautiful country to be safe, and I want something to be fixed.

How? I don't know.

Why? Because I care.

Like I've said before...we can't all agree/work together, but that would be the biggest step we could make. It won't happen, but we can dream.

Again, illegal immigrants can't get food stamp. So, it is not "addition".

WIC is just a supplement for children or pregrant woman. It only supports very little amount and it goes up to age 5. You are allowed to buy very few things within WIC program.

In all benefits, WIC is a very very small pie. However, somehow, it gets so much attention in BO.

While some money may go to the illeagl immigrants parents, the WIC is designed to help humanility. Sometimes, we shouldn't count every dollar.

Most doctors offices, at least in my area, will not see you for family planning or birth control. You have to go to an ob/gyn or planned parent hood. Not every area is equipped to handle the large number of people needing services. There are other issues like transportation, doctors willing to accept the insurance, quality care standard, etc.

My ob/gyn has a 3 month wait list. Most in the area are the same.
