Hereditary was less scary and more incredibly upsetting.

Still, absolutely a very well made movie. Much more of a pay-off than the last couple of A24 horrors.

I hate 99% of the new horror movies too, I'd rather watch my favorites from the 80's for a hundredth time than almost any new one....

Been getting into the death documentaries a lot more. First it was Evil Genius on Netflix (good four part series) and now just finished the Amanda Knox story on Netflix. I remember being totally sucked into this story and following it for quite some time. Very interesting and worth the watch for those who remember that time period about ten years ago.

Considering I might be driving 45 minutes both ways to go watch it in a couple hours is it worth watching? Is it scary at all? If its another horror movie like The Witch, no thanks. Normally when the critics on Rotten Tomatoes give it a high score but the normal people rate it much lower its a red flag.

I agree with EMD but I would still watch it. I hated the Witch but this was somewhat of a step above. I think you'll enjoy the first hour and a half and then be somewhat let down by the end, but due to the strong opening you'll walk away enjoyed.

Either way let us know what you thought!

We decided not to go. She told me it was actually made by the same people as the Witch and that did it for me. I honestly didn't know.

As much as A24 is praised by critics, none of their films have ever really connected with me. It’s always “the scariest movie in decades” and then I find myself falling asleep the majority of the time.

With the exception of probably Annabelle 2 all those sequels are pretty much just sequels in name only. Conjuring 2 is a completely different store with almost all different people (only the Warrens returning), Nun will be it's own story with the Nun itself only being set up from Conjuring 2. Personally, I loved Conjuring and enjoyed Conjuring 2. Lots of people are seeing them since they all make really great returns on their investments. I was reading an article the other day and a smaller actor who does mostly horror movies was asked about why there's so many sequels and remakes out there and they said that smaller studios aren't willing to risk trying something new and they know that with sequels and remakes there's a built in audience that almost guarantees profits which makes sense.

Opinions seem to be all over the place but personally I wasn't a fan. There was some fantastic visuals and what they were going for was interesting but I felt like it was so slow and a lot of stuff could've been trimmed down or cut out. The theater I saw it at was pretty packed and there were a few times the audience just laughed when they should've gasped.

We finished it and overall it wasn't that bad, but obviously it wasn't as good as the first one. But the sequels never are so I prepare myself in advance. However, I did like the soundtrack for this one.

just watched the endless . I will never watch another movie by this director again . I realy thought this one was gonna be realy good . but once again once the credits started rolling I said to myself ? what did I just watch ? and what kind of drugs were the people on that gave this stellar reviews ?

I finally watched the green inferno last nite after owning it since it was 1st released on blu ray and I dont get the ending. That experience would have damn sure changed my "morals" lol
