We Rangers fans know the feeling. We had Napoli, but couldn't keep him. Now he goes and wins a ring. Same can be said for Salty. Another former Ranger.

1) I take it you just pretend to be dense on purpose
2) you haven't been to Boston if you think half that city's asleep

Awful end to a pointless year. It's cliché to say, "aww shucks, we won a bunch of games, hooray for America" but the point of the game is to win so I don't believe that junk. In my opinion, anything short of winning is a useless year. Didn't win? Wasted season. Period.

Really needed them to come through for me after the crap year I've had. Sunk my head in the diamond once my dad died and haven't peeked out since. Now with baseball ending on a low note, it's time to confront my own mortality. What a bummer.

Congratulations to the Red Sox fans. Live it up.

So when is the Blue Jays parade? In February Jays fans were already saying the division was over.

And Tigers fans who said they would win the ALCS
And Cardinals fans like Seanieman

I hope those teams dont schedule parades Friday, might be upstaged by another one

Congratulations to the Red Sox. They truly outplayed my Cardinals and deserved to win this series. I also want to note that the Boston players were pretty much all class acts throughout the series. Once again congratulations and I'm sure we will see each other in the future!

Awesome season. I'm not the type of fan who dwells on winning or losing the last game of the season. I root for the Cardinals because they are fun to watch, and because I always have, and the longer they go, the more fun it is. If they don't win it all, oh well.

Already excited for next year.

I had never set foot in New England in my life until running the Boston Marathon in 2009.
I have been back every year since then. Having experienced the aftermath of the bombings, walking through the streets in the masses of people with my wife and daughter was a humbling experience. It was humanity at its worst and at its best. Being from the middle of the country, I can honestly say that the people have always treated us very well and the community rallies around the marathon on race day like no other.

The day after we got home was the day the Royals played the Sox and Papi gave his now famous expletive speech. I remember watching it and wondering if this could somehow spark the Sox into a special year. Those that are tired of the link between the bombings and the Red Sox winning should stop and think how different they might feel about it if it had happened in their city or community. It would take on a whole different light and meaning. As the year went on, I became more convinced that even though in a short series anything can happen, that the Red Sox might have that extra intangible that might send them over the top.

I'm happy for the city that they won. Already am signed up for the marathon again on April 14. The Cards had a great year, have nothing to be ashamed of and will be good for years to come. The playoffs were fun to watch as well. Hoping the Royals make the playoffs next year.

But for now, congrats to the Red Sox and their fan base.

To all Cardinals fans, take heart...

Giamatti: The Green Fields of the Mind

I read that every year when the season ends and send it to my friends and family.

Three times in my life now I haven't had to do it. Amazing.

Just saw this (I don't agree with the generalization of course):
Boston Fails To Celebrate Like It's Been There Before

I don't understand, what's the purpose of a car flip?

Morons. They are everywhere. Even in Boston.

Good lord. Acting like a bunch of hooligans. Man, act like you've been there before. Winning a title is nothing new for this city with the history of the Sox, Pats and Celts.

Its every city of every team in every league now that wins a championship. Always doing something moronic. Doesn't help its a huge college town, with thousands of college kids just looking for a party and an excuse to do whatever, whether they actually like the Sox or not.

Lol, riot police and tear gas at UMass. I remember how crazy it was when we lost to Kentucky in the Final Four. Not a pretty site.

Uh, I'm pretty sure full scale riots with citizens fighting back the police that are firing rubber bullets and tear gas at them, then also destroying parts of the city where they live in, doesn't happen after every World Series... Just further proof on how classy Boston fans are.

Yup, it pretty much does. Not just WS, but super bowl, NBA championship and stanley cup.

As for class, feel free to check out how classy your St. Louis fans are here:

https://twitter.com/BestFansStLouis

Read that twitter feed, then come back and talk about class.
