I'm just glad to see her teammates having her back..

Last season CC would get knocked around and teammates didn't do squat.

What channel is the Fever on?

Honestly might be close

No one gives two craps about these finals

Back to cards, have not read the whole thread, why are there literally NO 10s of the logo prizm no. 22? Looking at my raw one it looks pretty perfect, is there some recurring flaw that prevents any 10s?

Looking forward to this game. Hopefully we get to see CC and Kate Martin on the court at the same time tonight.
Just announced the Fever coach, Stephanie White, is out for personal reasons tonight.

Sophie Cunningham cards are moving, too. CC halo effect I guess.

Her 2021 Prizm base rookie is selling for $20-30.

There's no RC logo on it, as her rookie year was 2019 and she wasn't on the 2020 checklist. Somewhat easy to miss if you're flipping through a stack of base cards.

CC shooting is off tonight, just 2 points nearing halftime. 5 assists so far, but should be at least 9 if they could make the simple layups.

NGL, I was hoping to see her drop logo 3's. She was off, way off tonight. Overall, the game wasn't easy to watch. Terrible passes was the biggest issue IMO. I understand they are women but I honestly wouldn't have watched it without CC.

Sometimes collecting Robin/#2 instead of Batman/#1 is more lucrative.

Will the Clark craze spill over to past and current superstars such as Taurasi, Bird, Parker, Stewart, etc.? Thoughts? Many of these cards were produced in relatively low quantities, a mere fraction of today's production.

I don't think so, at least with the older players. Caitlin Clark's cards are a vehicle for hype and speculative investment right at this moment. She's getting pumped up real good. I don't think Sue Bird rookie cards are getting pumped up anytime soon.

There is some spill over on Cameron Brink. I also think Paige Bueckers cards will be hyped up.

I guess my thinking was maybe the Clark craze in part reflects an overall increase in interest in the WNBA, and that could translate to more people collecting more broadly. I think we saw something like that in soccer a while back -- all soccer cards used to be dirt cheap, then the whole segment went insane maybe driven by but not limited to Messi and Ronaldo.

It's not the worst idea if you want to take a chance on it.

The overall interest in the WNBA is overestimated. When CC was out for 3 weeks we got a good look at the popularity of the WNBA without her, ratings plummeted 55% for the league (53% for Fever games), ticket prices for games against the Fever without CC crashed (Sky tickets could be had for just $3 just before game time).

As soon as CC was back ratings bounced right back. If CC suffers a major injury or walks away in disgust I think the league might not survive for long.
The league has done everything possible to fumble the bag for over a year now, not protecting it's primary asset and not fixing the atrocious officiating.

You would THINK these other players would realize, as I think NHL players did of Gretzky, that Clark is their ticket to a more lucrative future and it's in everyone's interest not to try to beat her up. How short sighted. But yes the league should do something too.

If it happens that interest will gravitate to the younger players like Bueckers and (eventually) Watkins. They have the hype machine built and ready for them. Hobby money loves rookie hype and that’s not just wnba.

They won’t care until it actually goes in their pockets. Players really started embracing getting their asses beat by Tiger Woods once the tournaments purses started rising…

CC looks hesitant to shoot, only 2 attempts in the 1st quarter. 6 assists already, could have had another 2 from blown layups.

Also, extreme low energy and lazy on defense. Disappointing game.

They don’t care because incase you haven’t realized the WNBA isn’t going anywhere even if Clark does leave. Profitable or not we are in the days of women’s leagues in the mainstream, more leagues have formed like PWHL one of the originals isn’t about to go under
