If tOSU loses to IU in two weeks, does 1-loss PSU jump above the 2-loss Buckeyes?
Alternatively, if IU and PSU both only have one loss (to tOSU), do they both get in to playoff? With 3 top-12 teams losing (or already lost) today, the odds look decent that that could happen.

I can't imagine a 1-loss team from either of the power-2 conferences left out of the big party.....

Huskers continue to regress, losing to UCLA at home. It is possible that they could lose their last three and miss bowls again. Not sure what the issue is, but they haven’t seemed to improve since the Colorado game. Not a good sign. Played Ohio State tough, but couldn’t finish the job. The new coach every three or four years doesn’t really work well either.

Penn State could very likely be in a position at the end of the regular season where their only currently ranked opponent was OSU, the game they lost. (Maybe Illinois, who was ranked when they played, sneaks back in?)

I do believe there is value in beating all those teams you're supposed to beat but man.... how do you go through a Big 10 schedule and only face one ranked opponent? They are quite likely playoff bound - probably at home in the first round - with nothing that even resembles a quality win in there.

When there are 27 teams it's quite possible to avoid the ranked

I hadn't realized how strange the Big 10's current rankings are. Obviously I am talking about the AP since the Playoff rankings aren't out yet, but I find it very weird that one conference has 4 of the top 8 positions in the poll - and then no one after that. You have to go all the way to #31 (in "Others") to find your next Big 10 team in Washington.

IMHO the conference's best bet to sneak a 5th team into the top 25 is Iowa. They have the easiest remaining schedule among the three 3-loss Big 10 teams.

Indiana has played none. Their best wins are against 5-4 Nebraska at home and 5-4 Washington at home. This week they play at home against 5-4 Michigan before travelling to Ohio State and then hosting Purdue. If Indiana loses to Ohio State, do they make the Playoff?
