I really like this kid’s future, but I can’t disagree with the institutional knowledge being shared here.

Think about this - Ohtani stuff peaked at last year’s AS break. By spring training this year, he stuff was down 33% from that peak, and that’s before the whole market started turning down. What did do in those 9 months? He finished off an MVP season and posted 2-way numbers that had not been seen before.

Again - I like Julio’s game, but even success doesn’t guaranty a sustained secondary market.

Why do people think in his first year his cards have peaked in value? You don't think that 10 years down the road after possibly multiple MVP awards and all star appearances his cards won't be worth more than now? Look at Trout's cards, even base rookies are like a $100.

Are we really talking possible MVP titles at this point, he has started his career nicely but so many things can happen along the road. Also we need to stop inserting Trout into these discussions, Trout has proven himself for a large part of his career, Julio has only played 90 games.

So you honestly think it’s normal to mention not one but multiple MVP titles after only 90 games? Besides, didn’t I say he started his career nicely so I’m not diminishing his ability but I prefer to remain conservative over a persons career until they have played a few seasons.

Some really large and noticeable increases in the base chrome psa 10 the past few days with auctions hitting 175 now.

And the draft sapphire psa 10 is doing crazy things which I can’t understand (several sales at double comps and auction with multiple bidders at almost 600)
