It is getting increasingly hard to trust auctions or place much weight on their outcomes. As you noted, there is so much more room for seller/buyer shenanigans (e.g., shilling, shielding).

Yeah, nobody better pull a shielding on my auction ending tonight. I recognize the vast majority of bidders so far.

Beautiful card. Yes, those really pop in hand. Wonder what the print run is on them. I'm sure a ton of those 41 sold are the same cards.

You know that never occurred to me that some sold might have been the same card. Great insight. Ya for print run...maybe 100 or less?

How many are still in packs somewhere...prob not a ton...

Yeah, i think print run on shining armor is 100 or fewer. Chainmail is apparently even more rare.

Definitely think well under 100. Plus the fact that Panini was probably the product with the worst centering in 2017 didn't help.

Have two of these that have been at PSA for quite a while. I know neither will gem because of the centering and/or corners but I love the look of them with the team colors.

Mahomes Optic Conteder Auto RC BGS 9.5 Gem Mint with 10 auto.... VERY RARE card, ending in 5 hours!

So hard to find a True Gem with a 10 auto! Thats authentic and graded etc.
I am very interested to see what this ends up at... which should be an all time high for this- Currently over $8,000 including s/h.

Anyone else experiencing the amazing PSA service as of late? I sent 3 separate orders of express, regular and economy and after 14 TOTAL days, I have all my grades back. 168 of the cards were sent by the economy $20 service, which had been taking nearly 3 months earlier this year. Only took 14 days... Amazing. Something is going on over there. Selling the company perhaps? hmmm....

For NFL and NBA - Not amazing and not terrible. I'd say 50/50 split for 10's and 9's with the occasional 8. I am not a total cherry picker like some people. If I think a card will only get a 9, I still send it.

For soccer, did better; about 80% graded 10's. A lot of Mbappe 10's for the market....

Big subber I send in with said they are slamming though things for quarter end (as they charge once They grade). He’s seen some harsh grades as a result :/

No doubt they are building their revenue for quarter end. I've been accumulating their stock now for about 8 weeks. It's been climbing nicely. It really does smell like they are positioning to sell...

Sold a raw optic the rookies and contenders patch mahomes recently. Hopefully they are legit buyers. Made me reconsider selling my optic non auto and pink that I just got back from BGS on Saturday!!

Ok, the centering on this one is a little worse than I remember. That being said, hard to believe I have the only one out of the 470 submitted that got a qualifier from this set. No idea how to even price this one:

I am a fan of the contenders and contenders optic autos. I bought a red optic contenders auto from SirTommy recently and think it looks great in person. I love the combination of numbered team color contenders rookie auto. Having said that, the base contenders optic looks really nice also.

The top/bottom centering on that red seems really off to me. I think that’s what got you the qualifier.

Lol. Of course that's why it got it. Just said I can't believe I'm the only one out of 470 subs that got a qualifier. I've submitted at least a dozen of the reds and there were quite a few that were pretty far off t/b. Oh well. Knew it would be a 9, just didn't expect the qualifier.

I'd say PSA abandoned or moved away from the qualifiers for the past couple of years. (I know this from volume of submissions) It's apparent there are a lot of new graders there. And so in grading school they probably received the textbook rundown of qualifiers. And it appears you got a little miss (or mr.) "by the book" grader. I would bet if you crack and resubmit, you don't receive a qualifier.

I'm really curious to see how my next submission comes out. I've been watching the Jewcer subs and it's very apparent the grader you get plays a huge factor. Starting to think I should have split it up - some of the pop control they're doing right now doesn't look good when you send in 30 of the same card. I pulled every one of them and they all looked perfect but you never know.

I think the majority of people who submit to PSA choose no qualifiers, and that's why you don't see them very often.

I can understand for vintage. I can't remember the last time I saw a qualifier on a modern card. Really there shouldn't be a reason other than horrible quality control.
