Hey, I mean it's not like there was some parallel league full of amazing players that he never played against. Babe Ruth was great, but it's also a fact that he played in a league whose talent pool was greatly diluted. I mean Satchel Paige was his contemporary for example.

We do know what would have happened. Major League Baseball would have been far more competitive. You know how we know? Because the league integrated was almost instantly full of non-white superstars.

Yes he was. So was Smokey Joe Williams. And it’s sucks Baseball was ignorant.

Did anyone here know that Martin Dihigo won ERA and batting titles in the same season? So does that mean we can say that Dihigo is the best
hitter/pitcher of all-time? Ohtani hasn’t won either.

Now come on, Ohtani led the league in triples, caught stealing, and intentional walks one year as a batter and strikeouts per 9 one year prior to this season. Surely that counts for something.

You mean kind of like a league with 30 teams of diluted talent, it all balances out. They are doing what they did against the competition put in front of them.

Thank you for posting this. Can you start a separate thread on this please? This warrants additional eyes and attention if a BGS 9 just became a PSA 10 due to trimming/altering for an $11k card. Thank you. If not, I will.
