Looking at their payroll they don't have many big fa. After next year, altuve, bregman. Abreu and Verlander through 2025.

Probably the start of a slow descent? Still plenty of talent to be in the mix next year. Maybe run Verlander back and hope you get something out of J Abreu. But they won't resign Bregman next year I'm guessing. Maybe they trade him and restock their farm, its not good.

Farm system is terrible. We had replacements for Springer, Cole and Correa. But now we’ll just need to let players walk as we can’t support a top three level payroll. Tucker seems destined to play things out in free agency. I’m fine with letting Bergman walk. He only plays second half of season. Plus that leaves Altuve as the only position player from scandal years. Still enough talent to be competitive, but the streak of ACLS’s will likely end at seven.

Yeah the end was very un-Astros. Can't win 1 home game?? Even last night the mood was somber after the loss...really surprising especially after they pulled together at the end of the season...tells me they just don't have enough anymore...Bullpen implosions, starters underachieving...I'll be watching closely, tanking worked for them, how long till they pull the plug? If they do?

They still have a 2-3 year window of being competitive, but making the playoffs would probably be considered a win.
