I love Chicago. Been there twice for a week each time. Great food, saw Cubs, Sox play. Lots to do. Great city.

Have not been to Detroit, Minneapolis or Milwaukeee.

Neither have most people that don't already live in Michigan, Minnesota or Wisconsin!

I've been to Chicago and Milwaukee lots and Minneapolis a couple times. I recommend them all.

I would absolutely love to visit Detroit. Get some Detroit-style pizza!

There's very few places I wouldn't want to go. The world is too big and interesting to be a remote hater.

I agree with the bolded! But with the World being so big, why waste your time in some places, when there are better ones out there?

Detroit Style Pizza is not my thing. Too much fluffy crust, not enough meats and cheeses. But I will relent, I do like me a good Coney Island hot dog! So Detroit has that I guess.

I can do ketchup or mustard on a hot dog. Just can't do Chicago dog. Rather taste the hot dog then the 5 pounds of stuff they put on it.

Why the hate? In the Great Hot Dog Debate of 2023, so far 1 dude (packman80) hates Chicago style. And one dude (Grid) loves a Detroit Style Coney.

Detroit is winning something, beyond murder rate per capita in this thread. Take the win!

The quality of content in here is directly related to proximity to actual game days, with Wednesday/Thursday as the nadir.

Of all the threads on Blowout, this is one of them.

Bears had $100k in equipment stolen from Soldier Field last night, apparently.

Something, something, crime statistics....

At this point if it is reported that Eberflus is the Zodiac Killer, I’ll believe it.

Sigh... I love when people get their news, from Sports Groups on Facebook. The Bears had nothing stolen. The story has no ties to the team, outside of them playing on the grass that gets cut by those now stolen mowers.

It was all lawn care stuff. Big mowers, seed planters and other gardening junk. The team keeps actual game equipment at Halas Hall. They are only renters at Soldier Field. It's run by the park district. And they were the ones robbed.

Here is the story, but not as juicy as connecting it to the Bears I guess.

In case anyone is too lazy to click the actual news story...

The estimated value of the lawn equipment is $100,000 and belonged to a landscaping contractor, not the Chicago Bears, the City of Chicago or the Chicago Park District, according to the spokesperson.

It's still crime, though.

That it is old friend. Crimes happen all the time. The world is a horrible place.

Just not sure why we are talking about stolen lawn mowers, in a football thread.

But not a crime against the Bears though.

But when Grid refers to murder rates, he's not talking about the Lions.

See how that works?

Let's get back to football, less crime and hot dogs.
