hoping that's just a 'stinger' for Jokic... same thing happened to AD not long ago, though with him it happens all the time. Joker left the court with 24/6/6 on 8-9 shooting and 3-3 threes... In 15 minutes of play.

Their biggest issue right now is the pick and roll defence - that's how they got slaughtered with the Suns.

I think if they can improve that plus rotations then they will be ok.

I still don't understand rondo being on the floor with Westbrook.

The schedule is setting up nicely for the Warriors....lots of comparatively easy games early, with a majority of the tougher games after the holidays, when Klay should be back, and Wiseman & Kuminga should be contributing.

Pretty much the only "definite loss" over the next month is the away game in Brooklyn.

Dave making excuses for the Lakers wins - hilarious. Guess we are going to have to put up with his negative sh*t all year. I'll make up a narrative then to counter that bias - the OLD Lakers get two straight hard fought wins against YOUNG & hungry teams. Memphis (a playoff team), and the Spurs (a play in perhaps?) on the road without Lebron.

Anyway, great game and another character builder for the Lakers. That Lonnie burst could've killed them off but....

Russ was tremendous, attack mode into the paint and huge makes in the 4th and OT. AD was big too, expecting him to sit vs OKC.

Air Poeltl sure was a handful tonight!

Pop decided to sit him, then drew up plays for everyone else

I think KBD got more shots up than Lonnie after that run. It really was a shoot off your own foot for them. 0-7 FTs in the fourth. 4 from reliable shooters would have put it away. Live and learn but running the Lakers will be the blueprint you will continue to see.

Yea sorry anyone saying Maxey is as good as Ben is out of their mind. A fully engaged Ben makes this team a contender.

I don't even care what daeve says about Ben Simmons, his takes have been worse than anyone. Yea I remember when he called Ben a taller Evan Turner and a discount version of Lamar Odom. Those will go down in the history of bad takes

Maxey is a 1st round exit.

Maxey is a change of pace / 2nd unit caliber PG right now. His shot needs work, and he’s simply overmatched when both teams have their starting 5 on the floor. His hustle occasionally makes up for it, but he simply lacks the smarts and control of the floor at this point in his career.

It wouldn’t hurt my feelings to see him prove me wrong, but I think he’s 2-3 years away (if he ever gets there).

Yea Maxey is fine. He's not going to blow anyone away but he's not going to lose you games either.

He's a stop gap PG until either Ben comes back or they trade for someone to step in that spot. He's perfectly serviceable as a guy who can handle the ball and score but not much outside of that.

Man, Doc Rivers has to get better and these interviews...

When asked about Embiid's knee and if he looked good or not (he obviously didn't), Rivers replied:

“Really, I don’t think anyone looked good tonight for us. Joel, I’m sure he’s laboring a little bit. I wouldn’t know that. I wasn’t looking for that. I don’t ever do that anymore unless it’s obvious to me. I let KJ (Kevin Johnson) and Simon (Rice) and the medical staff tell me that. I never guess anymore because I’ve been wrong too many times.”

Really Doc? You want us to believe that you don't notice things like if your star player's bulky knee is impacting his performance? For everybody's sake, I really hope Doc was just blowing smoke.

If it was 5 years ago, yeah it would be an automatic title for the lakers. Unfortunately this is 2021. We know the game, act like lebrons team is unbeatable so he looks like a failure when they lose. Honestly I don’t know where they will stand at the end of the season. It’s remarkable what the front office has been able to put together though with little money/assets. I can see the lakers winning it all if the chips fall their way and I can see them not making the wcf. Gonna be a fun watch either way. I want to see AD play like the dominant force he can be but if you’re expecting mvp play from Westbrook a reality check is in order. That’s not to discount the impact he can have to the team.

AD has been ok on the offensive end - he will find his rhythm before the all star break.

What will be interesting to watch is the defensive end - it wasnt that long ago when AD was considered one of the best defensive (let alone defensive bigs) players in the league.

Lakers need to be improve their defensive (particularly their pick and roll defensive).

Pelicans look legit. Which doesn't match anything I've read about them this year.

EDIT: now they look like what I expected. First time watching them this season.

Ja is getting so much love from ESPN. Honeymoon phase for Z seems to be over, now comes the push.

When you’re not playing it’s hard to pump him up. His first dunk when he comes back and it will be pump city.

Ja's definitely the better player when Zion's in street clothes.

No debating.

Melo having one of them Lonzo nights.
