Yeah I know it's coming but I really hope there isn't a massive 80 page thread for Illusions because it looks like hot garbage.

It’s comforting to know that people who can’t even look a few posts up on the same page, or god forbid have to look through a few pages are the ones snatching up all these cards. Same yahoos who wander into my local lcs, never even collected before or know who the hell any of the players even are, just hoping to win the lottery, buying up everything, bringing it in “how much will you give me?”. How about you leave the damn cards there, let someone who actually loves basketball and wants to just open some damn packs have a chance? I’m gonna give a half-hearted attempt to find any retail Chronicles and then calling it good. My favorite set last year, too. This year is insanity.

There's going to be so much on ebay. Prices will definitely come down from the 399 and 90.

Let's not forget this will be found at every target and walmart in America and available online for a few weeks, if not months. There will be plenty to go around.

The only thing that will ruin this release is if Prizm and Optic are considered one of the chromium sets. Nobody wants to open a $35 fat pack and get an Andre Drummond Optic.

This is possible for a short period of time. But given the added vets to the sets (Lebron, Luka, Giannis), and the fact you are getting 180 cards in a box, these will be quick to get to $500-$600 plus. Too much value for graders to stay low for long.

If last years fat pack boxes are selling for $600-$700, this years will surpass that number quickly. Especially since it will only be towards the end of the year until any 20-21 NBA products get released. Almost all 19-20 products are higher than 18-19. This years Chronicles will be no exception IMO.

Easy way to stop it. Everyone has to stop buying the retail stuff at 4-8 times more than what you’d actually buy them at the stores. Lol I don’t get who is actually buying up the stuff but it makes no sense to me to buy them at those prices.

At the minimum, there's also Crusade, Phoenix and Hometown Heroes Optic.

Not really sure what Elite Black Box, Flux, Majestic, Recon and XR are (I know some of these were previously released FB products though).

By the way, I didn't check which of these were hobby-only so some might not be applicable to retail configurations.

But it's definitely reassuring to know there's other chromium sets.

Have you seen hobby prices? The presale on Immaculate Basketball is $2800 a box. What's the average box return on those $200? I know if I'm buying $2800 of any retail basketball at ebay prices on average I'm going to get more than $200 back. Chronicles hobby at $850 what's the average return? $80?

Lol I won’t do either. I’ll get some if they’re at the store at retail price. I refuse to pay 200 dollars for a 20 dollar box. I might as well spend that money on singles of cards I want.
