I've had lots of packs with no rookies. It really is a randomization of 5 cards out of 702 possible. Packs with 5 commons is not unusual.

Until K’ing 3 straight ABs he had hit the ball hard nearly every AB the last 2 games just right at people. He still is being too selective at times though. Especially with 2 strikes.

Thanks. I guess I got pretty lucky all things considered. My other rookie was Miguel Andujar. All the other cards were meh.

I love the fact he’s being very selective this early in his career although I think it’s sapped some of his aggressiveness and he’s letting some very hittable pitches go. Hes got to start fighting off borderline strikes with 2 strikes as well.

This is where cards as pure investments can be so tricky. If you're sitting on some Update Base PSA 10s right now what do you do?

We've added almost 600 new PSA 10s since April 30 and there are allegedly another 500 at PSA being graded. Seems like stabilized price is around $59. Been some attempts to move back up into the mid $60s but those were brief and prices quickly fell back down. We have a fair number of base auctions ending in the next 48 hours and yesterday saw a lot listed.

Do you take the sure thing and try and sell your cards right now? Market's fairly weak right now with Acuna's recent performance. Listing a bunch could further drive down pricing. Or do you hold and wait for a second half surge with Acuna? Not a bad idea but you could also see the pop report continue to grow by a couple thousand cards.

As Bohr said - prediction is hard, especially when its about the future.

Hold if you don’t need the money. It’s a $200 card if he repeats his second half from last year. He still hasn’t even got hot this year. It’s coming. Don’t fret.

I hope he's great. Base Rons are starting to feel like 88' D Gregg Jeffries cards to me. Just seeing so many the last 6 months. I put my last 40-50 away for a while to see what happens here.

this is where the art comes in. i agree with you the update pop report is going to explode. smart money probably trims the position perhaps getting back what you are in. save the rest for better days or if there are just so many the supply is perpetually high at least you arent taking losses.

Strictly personal opinion, but stashing or hoarding base is a no go. Don’t care if they’re gems, just too many to care. Even his S2 photo variation is in plentiful supply. None of my PCs include base RCs unless I happen to pull them or got them for free somehow or we’re talking serial numbered base.
