I gotta say I thought I’d hate the ‘86 throwback look but actually seeing it in person I love it. ‘86 Topps was the first cards I was buying as a kid

Busted 1 hobby box from blowout. Fun overall and got 45 of the 50 rookies including what I guess are the good ones. I really like the orange and green parallels in person. No big hits but I did get a nice Adell out of the bonus packs.

Participated in one of Jaspy's "doubleheader" breaks (1 case of hobby and 1 case of jumbo). Got assigned White Sox, Brewers and Royals

No pics yet but the big hits I got were

*Nick Madrigal RC black parallel out of 70
*Nick Madrigal RC gold parallel out of 2021
*Topps Rip party pack
*Luis Robert chrome out of the silver packs
*Luis Robert 70 years Topps baseball
*Yoan Moncada patch relic
*Eloy Jimenez parallel out of 399
*Danny Duffy parallel out of 499
*Bunch of base Madrigal RCs.

Pretty confident I got my $360 bucks back and a little to spare.

Same thing happened to me with the tins today. Really wanted an Acuna tin for my son... Luckily stumbled into a couple hangers though. Wasn't sure if we were going to get any cards from this since there's never anything at the store and prices are crazy otherwise.

This hobby sucks anymore. Screw the people who use bots to jam up Topps.com and retail sites like Walmart and Target. Screw the people who camp out at Target/Walmart and wipe everything out before it ever even hits the shelves. Screw the people who buy up tons of even basic Flagship boxes with no intention of opening a damn thing but instantly selling them for 2x MSRP. Screw Topps and their Million Case Break that gives everything to breakers and doesn’t leave anything for LCS’s or the rest of us. You’ve taken all the fun out of this hobby and ruined my day. I’m out.

seriously, I remember as a kid how fun new year release day was, to grab a couple of packs and see the brand new cards. Now it’s just fighting for scraps and getting shut out because greedy jackels corner the market first.

Not only was my day ruined, all my childhood memories are also now tainted with sadness.
