Anybody else enjoy picking up Mahomes Panini Instant cards? These have not really taken off much at all but I like them as a KC/Mahomes fan, especially for playoff games and big moments. Failure to take off in price so far doesn't bode well. OTOH, these depict iconic moments in his career and have a low print runs there could be good long term value there.

Man card prices are just getting crazy. The fact that Blowout is offering 500k for the NT Zion Logoman blows my mind. The guy hasn't even played a season yet. We need to get Patty to that level.

I own multiple 2017 PSA 10 Optic Mahomes Rated Rookies from /25 up through Base that would have probably gotten 8's or best case 9's if cracked & resubbed to my last grader. Definitely some "population control" going on over there... The only crazy thing about my sub was that I got a bunch of GEM 2018 Optic Lamar Jackson Rated Rookie grades including /50 Purple & /25 Black Velocity whereas I had gotten hammered on 18 Optics in previous subs. Go figure... |

WOW- People are SO RIGHT ABOUT PSA Grading Mahomes PRIZM HARD.
The one ended tonight for $700 was prob the nicest PSA 9 ive ever seen unless missing somthing truly looks just like my PSA 10's, and all my 9s have 1 white corner... this one looks really undergraded, clean and centered!

My last 4 sent in with perfect centering got two 8's and two 9's. I was pretty shocked. No dimple but 2 had the shadow in that spot. I gave up after that.

The gem mint percentage for both PSA and BGS is ~33%. It will be interesting to see if the % changes going forward especially with PSA, which can be attributed to stricter grading.

I find it stunning that there aren’t even 800 PSA 10s yet. For comparison, there’s 1747 Luka Silver 10s.
So it may be a base card, but what’s the actual PR on it? I would argue that even at $3k+, it’s still undervalued.

Football cards have always sold for less compared to basketball and baseball. Basketball has more global reach and a broader collector base than football. For example, this is Zion's first year but look at the price of his Raw NT RPA/99-

But this is all stuff I'll move out of before too long. The only place I've put my money that I plan on holding for a long time is Montana rookies, Brady, and Mahomes. In my mind, this is the past/present/future upper crust of modern football collecting. Other guys, I just can't get into. Rodgers just doesn't do it for me. Brees will always be the 3rd-4th best of his era. And other young guys just seem too risky to dump big money into once I think of all the QB card busts over the years that actually weren't terrible players, but terrible investments: Carr, Luck, Newton, Ryan, Garappalo, etc. My expectation that the separation between that top tier an the rest will grow is my reasoning being getting in on these guys.
