I'm not sure who anybody thinks is going to be buying this at inflated and severely market up prices?

I seems like it's just going to be flippers/investors trying to sell to other flippers/investors.

The base for this set is going to become the most sought after base for these rookies. That is what happens with Sapphire. You'll see. First sapphire for any of these players is also an added bonus.

You just answered your own question. It is a box of Chrome parallels, and Chrome parallels sell really well. For baseball, Sapphire base sell for somewhere in the blue to purple refractor range of regular Chrome. Even if these sell at only sparkle level, or base refractor even, the box carries huge value.

FWIW I don't think there were many on the UK site and most of what stock there was went to bots from the US. Usually when something goes up on the UK site I immediately see several UK based listings trying for a quick flip, in this case I saw just 1 listing. I'd be very surprised if this has fully sold out and would expect it to go on general sale later.

I don’t know where to ask here or the soccer thread. But how do the licensee work with soccer. Panini holds the right the premier league and other leagues and topps has the right to uefa. How can both panini and topps have cards of players in the premier league?

Is their a reason why topps didn’t include mason greeenwood in this set?

Panini have the right to most individual leagues, the World Cup and European Championships. Topps have the rights to the Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League and Europa League. There have also historically been other 3rd parties with rights too, Mundicromo in Spain being a good example. Those rights are for releases for those tournaments, that means for example you can have a Premier League team in a Panini Premier League release (eg sticker collection or Prizm) and at the same time they can be in a Topps UEFA Champions league release (eg Chrome, Crystal, Finest, sticker collection, Match Attax). Panini also seem to have an agreement that allows them to include Bundesliga teams in non league specific sets like Obsidian.

The market is far more fragmented then US releases, there is no established RC symbol and determining rookie releases can be somewhat messy across different manufacturers and formats. Mason Greenwood isn't in this as this is based off of the delayed 2019/20 Champions League Chrome and Manchester United did not qualify for it.

Topps has the UEFA Champions League and Bundesliga Licenses. This product was so pushed back it was supposed to come out 6 months ago. This product features players that played from the previous years tournament. Mason Greenwood didn't play that year. Mason will be featured in the upcoming Uefa chrome product (March/April release).

yes it does. its nice that soccer isn't totally dominated by just one company. also the rc logo from topps is lame. Did topps create the mlb rc logo? its so slick compared to what topps and pannini have.

I'm a monster soccer guy for 10 + years collecting and my advice to non soccer collectors is to stash your boxes until the 2022 world cup. I bought 20+ on ebay and I'm probably going to open up 2 boxes max...

With Fati rookie in this (think Jason Dominguez) being only 17 years old he could blow up this product in the future.
