Seems like it means more teams will keep trying to win later in the season than they did before. As games still mean something, and tanking to improve draft position isn’t the only option. I guess that sounds like a win?

Over a large sample size, not hustling out of the box would result in fewer runs being scored. He made up for his lack of hustle in this particular instance by stealing 2B. Base stealing, as we've discussed a lot, is not a particularly valuable event -- there's a big risk in possibly making an out.

Yep easy to say after France just imploded, the Rangers still have to get 6 innings out of their bullpen but it will be a little easier with a 6 possibly more run cushion as the Rangers 4th isn’t over yet.

I remember the one loss quite well -- freaking Will Smith.

Dusty has been cursed in the postseason for his career as manager -- 2002, 2003, 2012 etc -- aside from last season.

No, you think steals are worthless because your god Mookie doesn't do it. A discussion about steals not being valuable would mean both of us agree on that. I've never discussed that. Steals are valuable. I guess you must think station to station is the only valuable way to play the game, since you think anything risky shouldn't be attempted.

There's something with Cuban hitters in the postseason -- Arozarena, Yordan, Garcia, Cespedes. These guys have been unreal.

You really have a warped view of things. Nobody -- nobody! -- but an idiot thinks not hustling on fly balls in play is ever acceptable. He made good on it in this case because he stole 2B. But it didn't justify not hustling.

Steals aren't that valuable, especially in the modern game with the emphasis on home runs. The stats bear this out.

Houston used 3 pitchers to get through 3 innings. Texas is into the 4th with their second pitcher.

Texas had the 5th-worst bullpen ERA in MLB in the second half -- 5.01.
