I feel like he ends up with 44-45 homers. Which is still one heck of a rookie season! But yeah, I'm a fan, and will be disappointed if he doesn't break the rookie record.

Ha, that was funny! You could tell that in their pre game meeting they obviously planned on talking about his struggles all game long.

Anyone have the 'sale'?

https://twitter.com/darrenrovell/sta...20033187168256

A red 9.5/10 comes up as highest for me, and another gold pristine listed cheaper.

He'll break the record. Once teams start dropping out of the playoff race in September they'll put in call ups who will throw meatballs to Judge. As long as he can get to like 40 by the end of August I think he does it.

Exactly what I was thinking. Get to 40 by the end of the month and he can definitely manage another 10 hr month to get to 50.

I remember reading about strikeout rates per game in an article from about two weeks ago:

http://m.astros.mlb.com/news/article...rikeouts-down/

Average number of strikeouts per team per game - these are the five highest rates in MLB history...they happen to be the last five years.
2017: 8.24
2016: 8.03
2015: 7.71
2014: 7.70
2013: 7.55

If he breaks it or not, he wins ROY. Breaking the record is only icing on the cake. If he breaks it, he wins MVP IMO. Either way, his stock will rise and I'll unload some.

Maybe a month ago. He's no where close to Altuve at this point.

Altuve
#1 WAR
#1 Avg
#1 Hits
#2 Steals
#1 OBP
#2 OPS

Judge
#1 HR
#5 RBI
#1 OPS (Altuve catching by the day)

Judge needed a large lead in OBP/OPS to make up for Altuves ridiculous Avg advantage. Altuve's numbers are ridiculous.

These kind of stats are just unheard of...

Jose Altuve on the road since May 1 (39 games): .503/.553/.690.

I don't think he started until after his rookie year. Still one of my favorites regardless. Different time.

Altuve is tied with judge in war, like .03 in obp, and then he trails by a lot in runs and rbis. sooooooo... um? If your stats arent adding up to production. especially in that lineup how is he trailing judge so far in rbis and runs? Judge has been snapping out of his funk for the past week it looks like to me. His swing is almost back. Judges numbers are just better overall. Especially judge is now hitting #3 not 6 or whatever. Hes going to have even more chances for rbis, runs, home runs etc.

Altuve isnt gonna win mvp trailing judge by like 20 rbis, 40 runs, and 25 homeruns. Even if he has a .360 average and judge has .280

Altuve has 7 rbis, 10 runs, and 28 hits in his last 19 games

Judge has 7rbis ,11 runs and 13 hits in his last 19 games.

Why 19 games? Because thats what fangraphs had it at for the game log stats. Pretty telling for judges massive slump vs altuves massive streak.

Trout will pass Judge in WAR by the end of the season.
