I love it! Just because he can use a loupe or a microscope automatically makes his card real.

A recent tweet from him:

The days of trusting grading companies are over...seek out the opinion of others as I did with the holy grail

lol...so he thinks that he is changing the history of the hobby now?

Well, now I'm starting to think he very well may be crazy as he is certainly delusional.

I'm now convinced that this is no farce. This man has lived his life teetering on the edge of insanity, and the attention granted to him via this card is the straw that broke the camels back. He absolutely thinks its real, and no one will ever convince him otherwise.

I wonder - is there anything he has done something like this to in the past?

Clearly he's a real person, so this isn't an elaborate hoax with a fake person at the center of the story.

He's too dumb to pull off this much of a ruse. The question is, "How dumb is he?" Is he smart enough to know it's a reprint, or dumb enough to no know?

He knowingly bought and sold a 1933 Goudey Gehrig reprint while not disclosing in his auction that it was a reprint.

I actually think that he's just really dumb, crazy but mostly a combination of both. And that's not good.

The thing that is really funny about all this is that

1. All of the grading companies want this to be real as it gives them more publicity and when it auctions off, even more.

2. All of the dealers and auction houses want this to be real, think of the story it would generate pre auction, hype would be off the chart.

So his me against the world story is full of crap. Everyone in the industry would want a story like this to be true, as it would make a great feel good story just like the Swamp find did.

However, the reputation of said dealers, auction houses and card companies are at stake so they won't just give him a pass due to his story.

Actually, wouldn't grading companies want this to be fake? Think if he submitted the card to both PSA and BGS, and PSA said it was real, but BGS called it a fake. I would definitely want to be the grading company with the declining criteria, as collectors would see them as the more 'legit' company.

As far as auction houses, of course they want this to be real. A card and story of this hype would garner huge bids, and in result, a huge commission.

Maybe when people stop posting in it? Like you just did. But then again you just wanted to tell everyone who didn't ask how you feel.
