I actually really dig the game theory and higher math type elements to all of this. I know I overbid for my spots but I’m still happy that I got them. At least baseball prospecting can be +EV. Chasing $20k case of basketball base cards for old fast

That's one way of looking at how to bid on prospect autos. I look at it two ways, depending on the # of cases in the break. Either A) figure out a value per case you're willing to pay, and no big deal if it goes way over that, or B) figure out a value for each auto of your guy. Then bid that times the 0.4 per case or whatever it is, plus a little for potential color.

And yeah, be careful on those RC auto spots. If you get two of your guy, that's about right based on odds. Getting 0 is definitely in play.

But 90% of the new people really aren’t interested in the cards themselves. They are just looking to gamble and play the greater fool game.
