I was thrown off because the website had real low number won the individual cards. I later saw the numbers from the four packs. It clearly looks like most sales were four packs.

Well they are definitely going at a slower pace with a much smaller set. Will be interesting to see if this sparks better print runs, and a more modest expansion of the project.

The tweet does say "look for limited edition base cards" so wonder what the format actually is? People here and elsewhere have been speculating dutch auction pricing which is just weird.

I also want to call out Topps for the most yawn-inducing drawn out boring promos of any product I've ever seen, and an awkward combination of modern-day slang "szn," weird combination of fonts, and lack of details. The landing page on topps.com is just silly.

So far this is a flop with me, which fortunately means a low bar when it actually releases. But the autographed artists proofs (according to the tweet) means no one here has to read my complaints about the cards 'not being artist proofs' anymore!

if they do 4 seasons, it is 100 cards total

Were they totally clear about this? No
But does it make sense? Yep
Is this far more manageable from their standpoint, consumable from ours, and just better in every way than project70? Seems like it.

These numbers all seem good in my book, but still not sure how these cards will look based on the smidge of research I did on each artist.

I did learn that one of the artists (John Geiger) is currently being sued by Nike for allegedly copying their Air Force 1 sneaker design.

I think so.... with four "seasons." Maybe each season is the same 20 players. I can't imagine them only having one Ohtani, Acuna, Franco, Soto etc etc

Set is smaller than I was expecting but Topps also expanded the output of artist cards. They just aren’t using the Project brand for the other online artist releases. Smaller collaborations throughout the year for more than just MLB is probably the right way to go.

Still think they will miss out on a great opportunity if they don’t do a Bowman version with the rookies before the season is over.
