It is true. So you can see why it's not much of a deterrent to sellers, and more people have gone to 90% off sales since the change. It's also much cheaper to run sales for most sellers (not the giant sellers like you are) because of the decreased cost of running a sale. $1 or $2 for 11 days of sales rather than $3/day.
I prefer to sell through eBay/Amazon, so my sales tactic is completely different.

It is definitely a deterrent, but agreed it's not as large of one as when it was 3%.

In your example, you end up paying 10% more in fees if both the sale prices were the same. That is a lot when you are doing higher volume.

$10 price tag = $1 sale price at 90% off
Sells for $1
Less (.10) - 1% of original asking fee
Less (.05) - 5% transaction fee
$.85 - Net received by seller

$1.11 price tag = $1 sale price at 10% off (to compare apples to apples with a sale price of $1)
Sells for $1
Less (.0111) - 1% or original asking fee
Less (.05) - 5% transaction fee
$.938 - Net received by seller

$.088 (10+%) more received by seller in the 10% off sale

It deters me so I'm assuming it deters others as well. I just wish the bulk editor would be fixed so I wouldn't have to keep raising sales percentages when I don't have time to reduce prices.....

It could certainly turn on a dime at any moment and they (or any other business) could be in a position where one employee ended up infected. That happens and all bets are off.
Just read an article about the effect that the virus is affecting things in Kirkland....good luck and all the best to friends and family in the area.

Thank you, that is certainly appreciated -

It has ramped up in the last 24 hours for sure - Northshore School District (our neighboring district just to the north) announced last night that they are closing all schools for up to 14 days.

Our schools here are still open however concern is growing. Not necessarily in the health of the children but in the spread of the virus and it hitting some of the more vulnerable portions of the population.

More on topic - I did drop off a couple boxes at COMC yesterday (to get in under the old rates) and they were quick to answer the door and get them logged into the system.

I just tried to change the price of an item I already had listed for more than $100. I wanted to change it from $180 to $200 and it was forcing me to pay $2 and change it to "ELITE" in order to get the price changed.

Nope - no way COMC, no way.

Does anyone know about the new selling platform called StarStock?

It's supposed to be starting this Spring.

Will it be somewhat similar to COMC?

Who runs that platform?

First I have heard of it. Not a lot of information on their website.

Their founder was just on Wax Pack Hero podcast. It is COMC-ish....they seem to only be focusing on the new stuff at first. The guy that was interviewed came from Fan Duel

There was a long thread about it here last week. One of the founders was answering questions.
(Long term goal seems to be to eventually create a marketplace where you could buy/sell players you like, with their rookie cards being the underlying asset. First step is just a straight marketplace.)
Mods deleted it. Not clear why, as they weren’t selling wax.

Explain to me why this feature on eBay or another site has not figured out this concept. Let's say you as a seller have 300 cards from a set listed at $1/ea. Buyer comes along and needs 50 of them, checks the box of those 50, and sends you the seller an offer of $40, $45 or whatever..... i.e. wants several items but at a group level discount.... Would be best for both buyer and seller potentially....

Is it common to get a PayPal cash out request faster than a Blowout Gift Card? I submitted both at the same time and haven’t gotten the Blowout gift card yet.

My packages were delivered today per USPS at around lunch time and nothing was checked in on my account...is this something I need to worry about it? Also...will they take this into account when figuring my due date?

I listened to the Wax Pack Hero Podcast. I think I will send some cards to Star Stock and give it a try. Thanks.

Recent COMC website issues, slower service and COMC now charging 50 cents extra per card to take cards out of toploaders for Standard Services have motivated me to email Statstock.com for more information. I think I'm going send Starstock.com some cards.

I have had a lot of success on COMC in the recent months. And I plan on growing my collection/trading with them. I hope the website issues are growing pains that they will work out.

They have had similar growing pains for years. It is nothing new. They are at a point where they either need to stop adding new features and fix what is wrong or they are doomed to fail. It is possible for a business to die from being too busy. When you get so busy you start missing deadlines and other issues start happening you need to step back.
