This is where the announced print run hurt the card. Acuna is the second highest printed Living card there is right?

It may never get very high. The fact that you see one sell on ebay for $9.99 every now and again astounds me.

I wouldn't call the set a bust, but the fact that print runs are declining during the season is not a good sign.

Part of the problem has been checklist quality, but also the fact that it's hard to sustain momentum for any set these days with the constant flood of new releases.

Acuna is the highest PR with over 43,000. Soto and Torres coming in second and third with over 28,000. Vlad is fourth with 27,700.

Another indication of the decline in interest is the rookie print runs....

2018

Acuna: 46,809
Soto: 28,572
Torres: 28,550

2019

Vlad Jr.: 27,719
Tatis Jr.: 10,099
Alonso: 8,695

I can tell you for a fact that mixing it up is what lost them some customers. I did not get much good feedback when they decided to do the Art Prints. 1 Happy, 8 Angry, 2 indifferent. It was a gimmick for an anti-gimmick product line.

It doesn't feel like a bust in any way when I look at my set.
In Acuna's case, as was mentioned, his Living rookie looks way better than most of the ones that are worth money, some of those being a photo of a fly out. Eventually, time will adjust the values accordingly.

These are a long hold. There was a great opportunity to make money on them early on, but that has passed for the time being. If that's the main interest now, it's not a quick flip as they'll need to held for 5 years, and that's maybe just to start. I think Seto continuing the artwork will have the effect of holding prices steady, but should she ever relinquish and the set continues with another artist, hers could get a boost. The cards, like all sports cards, are additionally affected by the accomplishment of the athletes on them. There's some great stuff coming from a lot of these guys in the first couple of hundred.

I just like the idea of owning them, at the original price, little art pieces that are also baseball cards.
I see each one like a Funko Pop, but a lot less room to store. I haven't come close to stopping or selling.
One of each, no more, no less.

Would assume they are going to get a Mookie Betts card in at some point. Personally, I am down to wanting to see a Barry Larkin, Johnny Bench, Greg Maddux and Chipper Jones... Odd having Bernie Williams and Deion in back to back weeks.

I’d assume they meant it as an acknowledgement of a moment in his career that was quite symbolic for people. Doesn’t feel like cashing in to me.

Great price and looks like you’ll lose money at that price but GLWS.

Yes, sad but I think we’ll start to seeing more of this. The art is great but the player selection is what’s killing this set. I know we can’t get a superstar every single week but many of the players would be considered commons in most sets.
