This stupid excuse again? They are holding back product to create artificial scarcity and sell at way higher prices later on under the table. Has nothing to do with saving on shipping. I had to listen to this same excuse for this entire decade when morons would say the reason Panini gave away literally billions of dollars of immediate resale value was to save money on shipping. Yeah give away $1 at a time to save a penny. Makes sense.

The Nintendo Wii strategy. I believe it but man, I have to imagine that eventually, people just stop buying into breaks and breakers are sitting on mountains of wax.

Its a when and not an if. We have seen this hobby go thru several massive bear markets and the next one will be the most epic of all time; fortunes will be lost, reputations ruined, families split apart.

They aren't sitting on anything or much of anything. The whole point of selling breaks is those guys can buy at market value and still make money. Via the wave pricing they are paying around 10% under market value at some point after a product releases. There have been products with multiple waves. Could be close to release, weeks after release, or a few months later. Via the initial allocation from Topps/Fanatics in most cases the good friend buyer is paying way under immediate market value due in part due to how hot most things are right now and the artificial scarcity. Even if they lost on all the wave pricing products, which they are not, all it would do is cut a little into their massive profits on the initial allocation. With this strategy short term the 0.01% win and everybody else loses.

This was just the pre order. They appear to be doing an EQL again on May 5th.

"EQL pre-order, EQL regular order, when they released a product, one day it wasn't released, the next it was released. End of story. I know, I was there."

For those interested, I ran the odds on this product. Here's the hit breakdown:

Odds per 12 box case:
single autos - 9.58 (2.91 base and 6.67 parallel)
dual autos - 0.64
shadowbox autos - 0.18
sketch cards - 2.14
creator sketch cards - 0.10

That's a total of 12.63 hits per case, so about 2/3rds of cases will have an extra hit. And a creator sketch card every 10 cases is pretty good.

It will be interesting to see if Hanks and Allen really do have autos /150 like the mock-ups show. That's because by the odds, the auto parallels look like:

regular autos
all 29 signers have red and superfractor autos. 28 of the 29 signers have 30th ann, orange, and black autos. 23 of the 29 signers have buzz lightyear and gold autos. 22 of the 29 signers have blue sky and cowboy hat autos.

dual autos
all 13 dual autos have black, red, and superfractor autos. 7 of the 13 dual autos have 30th ann and orange autos.

shadowbox autos
all 10 signers have black, red, and superfractor autos.

Where they will release another 11 boxes and charge $249.

I had to go look at the last time I actually won an EQL and it was Sep 2025 - have lost every EQL since. I think its a good time to stop trying.

So either your numbers are off or Topps completely lied on the sell sheet. Topps shows Tom Hanks /150 and the Hanks-Allen Dual as /30.

What a cool product. No chance I'm spending $800+ on a box, though.

Is that what the rate is going to be? Get out of here with that.

With the EQUALizer, technically you are guaranteed to win on your 100th loss. So when you get there, make sure you choose wisely as to the best EQL product ever lol.

Ugg. Is this the Toy Story version of Topps releasing Chrome then Chrome Sapphire after--same artwork, same numbering, just different parallels?

How many cases are being produced? I notice diff odds for the superfractor insert sets yet they have 10 cards per set. Shouldn’t they be the same odds? Presells for boxes have sold out on other sites for 450ish.
