He's a total bell end though sadly.

Xavi Simons is a really nice recovery for Tottenham after the MGW/Eze debacles.

I LOVE it! My son and I were looking for a new favorite Spurs player and have really grown to love Simons game.

Still no second bid from Liverpool for Isak.....it's been four days since the Newcastle-Liverpool match, so the "waiting until after the match" excuse is no longer valid.

Closer we get to the deadline (now roughly 72 hours away), less likely is becomes that he will get his move.

Increasingly looking like there are going to be quite a few unhappy players stuck with clubs they want to leave.....we're now less than 24 hours from the deadline, and aside from a few vague rumors, no indication that Liverpool are going to table another formal bid for Isak or that Brentford are going to allow Wissa to leave. Doesn't seem like anybody is going to make a move for Donnarumma, Mainoo looks like he's going to remain stuck at Man United, and Anthony's move back to Real Betis seems to have broken down.

Yep.....really don't understand why everything ends up getting pushed to right before the deadline, especially when the season started three weeks ago.

You've got three deals that have been rumored all summer, all happening today, less than 24 hours before the deadline:

Isak from Newcastle to Liverpool
Guehi from Crystal Palace to Liverpool
Wissa from Brentford to Newcastle

Would be much better if the transfer deadline (Europe-wide) was BEFORE every league's season started.

Wouldn't work.

Dutch League starts first week of August. Italy starts third week of August.

Various Leagues start in July, some even in June.

So...just make the deadline August 1st instead of September 1st.

Because that gives barely any time to get deals done, especially years with International competitions.

Sorry, but "not enough time to get deals done" doesn't pass the sniff test, especially when tons of deals that have been percolating for weeks are suddenly getting madly finished in the last 24-48 hours before the deadline.

Even next summer, when there's a World Cup, the window opens on July 1st....so closing it on August 10th (four days before the first match in any of Europe's big nine leagues) instead of September 1st would still leave 40 days for transfers to be negotiated, and 22 full days after the World Cup Final.

That's plenty of time.....
