Frank Oz announced over a decade ago that he would never sign again because he didn’t like that people were reselling them. I don’t think he will ever back off of this. OPix made a very generous offer back in 2016 with 100% of the money from the signing going to Oz’s charity and OPix earning nothing. He thanked them for the “very generous offer” but respectfully declined. They have made several attempts actually. I don’t think he changes his mind ever. He signed for 1 Topps set and those that have the card are very fortunate because these rarely surface now.

Thanks for that background, I did not know that. I figured there must be some reason.

I have a bad feeling... that this is going to look like this year's Topps Transcendent Baseball. That was changed this year to a similar format to this product, and the breaks have been very bad.

Also, getting 1000 high quality sketch cards is pretty much impossible. So I am expecting a lot of meh sketches. That's going to be hard to stomach at $3k a box if you get a crap sketch.

So, is this the same product that Topps was selling for $6k online through their website and BO has it for nearly $12k?

The last year they made Stellar was 2021.

2021 Stellar. 100 Boxes Made.
Price: Approximately $12,000
40 Autograph Cards
1 5x7 Sketch Card
100-Card Sketch Reproduction Set

2024 Galactic Antiquities. 1,000 Boxes Made.
Price: Approximately $12,000
5 Autograph Cards
1 Sketch Card
3 base cards (some #d)

Wow. And it will sell out. If your five autos are Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Natalie Portman, Ewan McGregor and Pedro Pascal you can probably double your money!

Bet a lot of boxes have Clone Wars / Rebels voice actors though. Also lots of Tim Rose, Jeremy Bulloch, Mon Mothma actresses (there's like 3 or 4 now), Bobby Moynihan as Fish Guy from Mando Season 1, Peli Moto's actress, Sam Witwer, Ray Park, Temura Morrison and Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth too!

Galactic is around 3k not 12. Direct cost is like 1500. Who is saying boxes are 12k?

No worries. My point is that BO (and anybody else) can sell it for what they can get.

Kris Penix and Alex Mines confirmed they did oversized sketch cards, Penix's first sketches since 2018, so that's a good thing.

I haven't seen a checklist, anything jump out at you on it? Thanks

Some good names like perdo, Portman, Clarke just not at this price point. No ford or hamill

Sketch list is very good depending how many big sketch buyers are out there these days I guess if this is worth it. $1500 okay price anything more is foolish

So 5 autos, a few base (some #d) and a 5x7 sketch per box?

Given no Ford or Hamill, that's a tough sell. Can they really have curated 1,000 5x7 decent sketches? By decent, I don't meet the quality of the Stellar sketches.

I mean more than drawn with a sharpie in black & white, eyes of the characters on somewhat the same levels, not Goonies style one up high, one down low...

And for signers. If they have Pedro, Portman and Clarke, they couldn't have done more than 100 each, right? So, I'm guessing without looking at the checklist, we're going to have most of the same signers - Rose, Eckstein, Sackoff, Morrison..........

Oh by the way, doing my Googling - Layton Sports Cards is sold out of break spots for the boxes they were allocated - but they were 9-spot "Random Card" breaks.

$311.99 per spot. Then they'd random the participant list, then the hits, and you'd each get a random hit from the 9-card box. If you price out the 9 spots at $311.99 each, Layton was grossing $2,807.11 per box sold.

But that includes free shipping of whatever your hit is, whether it be a base card, a Pedro Pascal as the Mandalorian signature, a 5x7 Penix sketch, or a Tim Rose as Admiral Ackbar Autograph.

I really want to see the checklist. Hamill is signing again, he just did an official pix signing...I Can't believe they'd do a "new high end" set without either Hamill or Ford..
