An incredible loss for Manchester City, he's very likely the best player in the world at the moment.

That sucks. Hopefully he comes back strong from the injury.

tough one to recover from. One of those injuries that players struggle to 'trust' themselves with. You can do all the recovery, rehab, training, etc but you can never truly simulate game play until you get back in there.

also, is Nico Jackson good lol?

You watch him and think he's a donkey that consistently misses big chances, but when you look at the numbers, hes actually done quite well.

I know Chelsea have been screaming out for a big time CF the last couple years but maybe he turns into the guy.

Man City is not MAN CITY without KDB and Rodri. Lots of great players all over the pitch, but Rodri and KDB are irreplaceable. Expecting KDB to miss plenty of games this season again, leaving EPL title up for grabs.

Raphael Varane retired at the age of 31.

I just really hope someone this season lights Haaland up with a ball to the head like he did to Gabriel.

Why wouldn't you if there's no punishment handed out?!?!

I dont have a dog in the fight but before that happened, but I at least had some respect for Haaland. No longer.

It was a silly thing to do, but the histrionics regarding it are embarrassing.

Gabriel himself has said it's nothing. The only people making a big deal about it are journalists desperate for your clicks.

A meaningful goal, in extra time, in a derby. You cant really control your emotions and behaviour all the time. Ok it was wrong but nothing more. I don't know if its my balkan mentality but I love this kind of behaviors. I can wait one round or even a year just to watch a player coming in our ground so I can whistle and curse for 90 minutes. It doesn't really mean we hate them but they are going to have a tough time and they know that. It can even fuel them sometimes. Rivalries are the essence of football.

This.

Not sure how some people would have survived football in the 70's and 80's... heck, even the early 90's

He thinks he's prime Zlatan with that kind of behavior
He'll start kicking his teammates on the head soon lol

Don't get me wrong....I love a super physical game, full of emotion and great rivalries where the line gets pushed. I just thought that was a pretty weak move for someone of his stature and following.

But of course now that the precedent has been set that no punishment will be giving, I'm 100% advocating that it gets done multiple times to Haaland. Maybe it can be made into a tradition - everytime anyone scores on City, Haaland gets a ball to the back of the head unexpectedly!

It was just incredibly cowardly from Haaland. Throwing a ball from behind. Very, very sad. I agree: He deserves the same treatment from every opponent for the rest of the season. After all, no red cards are handed out for it. So whenever he turns around, bam.

They must have just wanted for Arsenal to win today then, winning goal 11 minutes into extra time.

In retrospect it's pretty shocking that Man City sold Palmer for only 40 million....

Welsh clubs playing in English leagues looking at getting permission to play in the Welsh League Cup so they can qualify for Europe every year.

No doubt Wrexham are behind it.

If they want to play in the Welsh League cup, #@#@#@#@ off and play in the Welsh League where you should be anyway.

Cole Palmer emerging as one of the best players in the world is a nice little treat. What a performance on the weekend. Should have had 3 or 4 assists too if players could finish.

That first time ball over the top to Jackson was sublime.

Match Day 2 in the Champions League. Benfica crush Atletico 4-0. Villa beat Bayern for one of their biggest wins in decades, and to top it off, Lille take down Real Madrid 1-0 for Real's first defeat in 36 matches across all competitions. Despite some of the most entertaining and dramatic football in ages, this forum does not have a single post about any of these matches? I guess everyone is too busy ripping overpriced wax and chasing Lamine Yamal rookies to care........

"Do you guys even soccer bro??"

I am attending tonight Paok Thessaloniki(GR) - Steaua Bucarest(RO). I know you guys are getting super hyped by all these champions league battles but this is probably going to be fun also. Plus the fact that already 1 day prior to the match 9 romanian ultras got arrested.

I guess nobody is posting about the 'new' Champions League because it's a joke. The majority of the clubs aren't taking it seriously, so it's a stretch to expect most fans to.

The new format is laughable. There's barely any jeopardy.

I'm not sure where you get the idea that the "majority of clubs aren't taking it seriously".....

The fans have rarely taken the group stage seriously because except for the rare "groups of death" it's generally been pretty obvious who is going to advance from most groups as soon as the draw has finished. That's nothing new.....
