According to Beckett the odds aren't released.

"Pond Hockey – (unannounced, odds not known)"

Based on prior years copies coming up for sale from tie to time, they are scarce but not rare. SSP.

1:286 packs in 2022-23 per ePack odds. I'd think similar odds for 2023-24

Out of curiosity, how is the condition of the cards in your boxes?

Can you pull the Pond Hockey parallel with vet base, or is it just the Marquee Rookies?

Grabbed two boxes from my LCS. One box had nothing notable. Second box had these, I like the Pond Hockey a lot. No Bedard in either box.

39 Bioluminescence /5 cards from this set have been listed on eBay. 37 of them are in Canada.

I know Canada rips more hockey product than the US, but does that seem a little suspicious? Don’t see extreme ratios (95%) like that with other products/parallels. Did something with collation/distribution get messed up?

39 out of 1500 total cards, so basically 2-3% of the the total amount listed. I guess either not a ton of this is being ripped or they are all heading to epack or something.

Waaay too early to be making availability observations.

There has been some noted discrepancies between cases (I think there's even been a few posts here regarding that). But it will take longer than a week and change for any actual distribution issues/inconsistencies to be verifiable.

Also, on any given day I bet there's twice as many active Canadian listings on eBay than US. At least from the saved searches I use, there's A LOT of canadian listings (my searches are for mostly US based teams/players, so that estimate might be conservative).

The only thing I find messed up is how high the Bedard serial numberd and autos are selling. It's crazy! 795 US for the blue fragment #/125!?!?

that seems low.... 3 boxes in cost for a super hard to hit bedard rc. Or you can have one of 5000+ copies of a YG psa 10.

A pretty low numbered parallel from a pretty desired set doesn't seem that crazy at all. This is why boxes are more expensive, people don't understand this isn't a regular year where a card like that may be $400-500 depending who the top rookie is.

Sorry, not that versed in OPC Platinum.....

Are retail blasters any good in terms of value? I'm assuming they got the usual "retail exclusive" parallels, but can you pull autos or low numbered rookie cards?

The odds of getting the good stuff is usually lower, and some parallels are hobby exclusive. I believe the Beckett listing for the product indicates which are hobby only.

I guess I'm the crazy one on that blue fragment lol. I still don't get it, there are tons of nice power numbered parallels for much cheaper. I guess people lose their minds on Platinum. I'll stick with Allure for much much cheaper (and better looking in my opinion)

I'd guess not a lot being ripped. I did 3 cases, and searched for comps for some of the bigger hits starting release day. It took until Friday after release to find comps. For a major product like OPCP, that's odd. I'm a baseball guy mostly but also a decent hockey guy...I've never seen slower listings on a bigger product like this. Even at bloated price points, way more Bowman Chrome baseball being opened than OPCP.

is that auto'd? If Bedard ends up being what everyone thinks and hopes he will be that could be a great card long term

No auto, just the base parallel

Maybe UD finally jacked up the prices to a point where less people are buying. Doesn't help this came out one week after The Cup.

400Cad for OPCP is pure madness. I remember paying 100Cad for a discounted jumbo box of OPCP 14-15, with 2 autos, and the checklist much shorter, giving way better odds of getting a decent name.

Looking at buying some singles from this set to grade and it seems like the PSA 10s tend to have a tolerance for a thicker border on the left than the right (just looking at examples of base Bedard on eBay). Is that part of the design or are these supposed to be dead centered l/r? Or are my eyes deceiving me?

Supposed to be 60/40 or better centering on the front for a PSA 10 (assuming all else is good with the card). The back they allow to be more off center, forget exactly by how much. There's probably just a lot of 60/40-ish OPC plat from this set. That's better than some recent years where centering was absolutely horrible.

From what I've seen most of this set have a slightly thicker (off center) left border, even the couple cards I have bought randomly exhibit this.

Thanks for the feedback! I guess the ones I'm seeing fall into that traditional 60/40 PSA range. I know that criteria but they just seem worse somehow! Seems like the QC on these was just poor and finding well-centered ones is kind of tough.
