MJ and Bron have this old faded worn-out feel at this point. Only Wemby avatars from here on out? Everyone, why not swap out your boring old avatars and get with the new program?

It's like when Trotsky prophesized that the new Communist Man would reach the heights of Aristotle, Goethe and Marx, above which new heights will rise. Speaking of which, I'll be excited to see Wemby grow taller than he is already

There's the Jumpman logo for MJ, what will the Wemby logo look like? Let's speculate. Pretty please.

Broken ankles. A 7’4 guy down to 6’8.
I’m not sure how well he’ll be in the league ; he could be great but he’s gonna get knocked around a lot and sure looks like a walking injury risk.
Keep dreaming.

Who in the past was a 7+ footer, similar build to Wemby, and had a great career with little down time due to injuries? …. I’m drawing a blank at the moment

The interwebs is losing their mind... not sure if there is more to this video... it shows 1 made basket (kinda cut off) and 5 other missed baskets. They might have cut out some earlier shots.

Sounds like you object to placing everything he does under a microscope, but why???

1 outta 5...and without any sold out crowd or defense? he's a bust

that's what my dumbass former head coach would have said

BTW, Jordan would have hit 5 for 5, Lebron 3 for 5

47%/27%

I don't think anyone is going to confuse Slenderman for Nowitzki early in his career.

Though this was just a phuckaround open gym shoot, it highlights some of his primary areas of concern. Over half his in-game j's he's either fading back/forward or drifting right to left. Cool for style points when you're Robert Wadlow on the And1 tour - totally unnecessary when you're a 7'5" giga prospect with a release point higher than SpaceX.

His actual follow through looks nice, but his balance is poop. When he's not bouncing off defenders like a pinball, I suspect it's mainly because of his lack of core strength.

It's nice being sponsored by brand name Spurs in your developmental process, but I'd be knocking on Sean Elliott/Mario Elie's door if I were him.

Whatever happens, keep him out of the Spurs' psychologist office.

I’m still ‘all in’ on Wemby, but was surprised at the consecutive missed shots he made. Not sure if muscle memory is the right term for the situation, but it seems like at his level, little thought or focus would be needed to put those unguarded, not too distant rocks in the hole….

I don't think it takes a science degree to realize he's creating a lot more difficulty for himself by drifting with each jumpshot. Ideal form dictates you jump and land in the same spot, which indicates good balance. His shot is all over the place (watch his game highlights/low lights). When your body is constantly shifting front/back right/left, you're going to get less than stellar results trying to overcompensate with your release trajectory.

Outside of Steph (who basically does anything he wants), the best shooters have the most replicable form with very little, if any, deviation.

Wemby's shot mechanics need work. But hey, he's still a baby. Pretty sure the Spurs see the same.

I'll be praying for thy Ridge wallet and blood pressure, brethren.

I sure hope that clecter's relics are made/monetized from every activity WEMBANYAMA is involved in. Napkins or used utensils from the restaurant, photos of him placing the order, you name it. The high-IQ strategy here is to milk this cash cow for as long as he's healthy
