I wonder what percent of Topps / Bowman Products are target marketed specifically for kids?

$125 a month! Damn. That’s just for existing at 13 years old. My kids laughed because they got $0. If you can’t enjoy this hobby on that as a kid I don’t know what to say. Hell yes as a kid I wanted a 52 Mantle and a 63 Rose but do you think I got it? You have to collect in reality as a kid. I went to the LCS once every couple months as a kid and spent like 5-10 dollars and was happy. I liked the cards not the $.

Funny coming from one of the biggest flippers & consignment people on this entire board. He also likes to leave negative feedback on eBay for shipping charges that he knew about, agreed to and also paid.

Perfectly calibrated too.

$125/month is just high enough to set off the grumpy "back in my day" crowd without being so ridiculous that they assume it's a troll thread.

Careful calling it a troll thread boys & girls. You'll get hit by the BO hobby positivity police. They come in call people haters, apologize on behalf of BO and then disappear the second the OP is banned or suspended.

SuperKhal is a prime example of an industry shill who specifically targets those who may expose how the “buyer’s club” operates. Such people are ALWAYS on the board because this is their job.

For them, social media operates as a kind of “hobby pawn shop”, a place to create and maintain profit opportunity. When they need help trying to shout down an idea that may limit their larger business interests or opportunities, they just call/text someone in the ‘back room’ of what they consider to be their virtual pawn shop to agree with them. This is a typical way for them to gain influence.

This exactly. Over an annual period $125 is about how much I spend per month and I have amassed massive collections. It's all about how you go about things. Baseball/Hockey are the cheapest sports to collect/break which makes it even easier.

They can use that and buy PSA 10 Ohtani Rookie Cards. Wait they can't afford to buy the Sapphire though...

If Ohtani keeps it up, us grownups won’t be able to afford a PSA 10 Sapphire!
