Huge card for me, thanks to Harliduck over at Net54 who purchased this one at a local card shop and sold it to me for exactly what he paid.
There is definitely good and bad in the hobby but people like John help keep me going and keeping the faith.
3 to go (highs) before I can put this set to bed.

Don't really understand why I am drawn to beat up cards.
I actually think I know why.

Picked up this 1952 Topps red back Howie Pollet for $3.00.
I sort of have a PC of Pollet as he once played for the Houston Buffaloes minor league team.
I do have nicer examples of both red and black back Pollets.

Finally got the last card for my 66 topps fb set. Not near as nice as the rest of the set, but at least it is unmarked and for $100 I ain't complaining. Now done with 54, 55 bowman, 56, 59,60, 62, 64 topps, 65 Philadelphia and 66 to 86 topps sets and nearly done with 61. Got a few of the stars for 63 so will probably start it by summer.

Nice!

The arm patch would make the photo being taken from 1943 - 1945.
Worn as a symbol of support for the American war effort during World War 2.

Hey vintage card friends and fiends! It's been a while since I posted on BO but I'm still deep into vintage collecting. I am spending most of my time on instagram (handle there is 1956ToppsGuy) these days. I made the biggest trade of my life at the Burbank show this past weekend and had to post it on Blowout!

Behold!

Congrats! How many Ozzie Smith Rookies did you have to trade to land it?

Thanks folks. I gave up 16 vintage cards including some of my favorites: 33 Goudey Red Ruth, 48 Jackie, 53 Topps Mantle, 54 Hank Aaron, 86 Fleer MJ. That said, I think I can do a good job of replacing most of those over time. I didn’t think I would get too many shots at a nice 52 Mantle so I had to jump!

Great pickup. Other than the Goudey red Ruth, I wouldn’t even be upset losing the others. Like you said, you’ll be able to get those back one day. How many times does a nice mantle come up?

Yeah man thats a lot to give up but for that particular copy I think you made the right decision. All of the cards involved will continue to go up in value but none at the same rate the Mantle will judging by history. And the ones with eye appeal will no longer leave peoples PC.Again congratulations I would have made the trade as well.

Picked up this 70 year old 1952 Topps Look 'N See Abraham Lincoln.
Has nice patina and was cheap (.50 cents).
