after today, chubb would be 649 yards, 108 yards per game. 5.9 ypc. 7 td’s. #1 in each category among qualified rb’s.

browns record is irrelevant bc he can’t play defense.

The healthiest/best offensive line really does count for a lot, more than people give it credit for when comparing RB's.

According to "The Undroppables" list updated Oct. 15, the Browns rank #2 for rushing. Titans rank #11 for rushing. Giants #16. Colts #25.

A big Derick Henry fan, I have to commend Barkley & Taylor.

Barkley through 7 games (Giants 6-1):

726 yds (103 yards per game)

Barkley has been a dominant force in 4th quarters this season. He's had plenty of games where his numbers looked terrible going into the 4th but like any great RB, keep feeding him and he gets stronger as the D gets more tired late in games. Today was no exception.

Chubb is nice but in a vacuum, Barkley is just better. Faster, quicker, more explosive, etc. He makes plays that remind you of Barry Sanders at times with his amazing jump cuts and change of direction. You can't teach what Barkley has.

Why does Chubb not get more carries?

Seriously. Is it just his health (or the worries about his health, at least)?

He was third in the league in carries coming into tonight, have to imagine the goal is to avoid giving him 25-30 carries a week if possible. Especially since Kareem Hunt is generally decent.

I am not saying he is the best, but Khalil Herbert from the Bears should be in the discussion.

Bears are the number 1 rushing team in the league right now. And Herbert has a lot to do with that, even though he is splitting carries with David Montgomery.

For RB's with a MIN of 25 rushes, he is tied with Tony Pollard & Travis Etienne with a league best 6.2 per carry.

Top 4 RB's for yards all have between 121 & 166 carries. Herbert only has 91, but he is still #7 in the league. He is also top 10 for RB's in Touch Downs.

Henry's making his strong annual surge, but Saquon still only trails Chubb by 50 yards in the rushing department and leads all backs in all-purpose yards. Nick's having an LT'esque year in terms of td's though.

I guess it all depends on what you place value on the most.

Quite the overstatement. Chubb has 10 and LT had 28 lol. No one's getting 28 again.

Just looking at total season production, Chubb is leading Ekeler by .4 points and McCaffrey by 4 points.

Chubb is great but not that much greater than the field. If you asked the 49ers to trade CMC for Chubb, they're not making that deal.

There's always a place in the NFL for pure runners like Chubb and Henry, but the NFL is shifting toward pass catchers like Kamara, Ekeler, CMC, etc.

I can see how you thought that was the overstatement since 28 > 10.

However Chubb has 10 TDs through 8 games. If he keeps up that average and if he plays 17 games, he'll wind up with 21 or so. Certainly 28 > 21 but he did say "LT-esque", not "definitely equal to or surpassing LT". When someone is on pace for 20+ rushing TDs, I think it's fair to be reminded of LT's awesome season.

It would be more akin to Emmitt Smith or Priest Holmes, and not even equal to them. Not trying to downplay Chubb at all, but c'mon it ain't an all-time great season pace at least not yet. There's a bazooka of RB talent in the NFL and near the top they're all pretty close.

Eh, I might have gone with Terry Allen or Joe Morris but that's being pedantic. I don't think you're downplaying Chubb at all but consider through 8 weeks LT had 12 TDs during his record breaking 28 TD season. He did most of his damage the second half of the season. Considering the NFL just wrapped up week 8 and Chubb stands at 10, I think using LT-eque is fair at this current point in time. My opinion is that Chubb doesn't keep up that pace, especially with their QB1 to return after week 11. But through week 8? Yeah, that TD total reminds me of what LT used to do.

Since this post on 11/01, Chubb has scored 2 TD's in the next 5 games. "LT-esque" is now out of the discussion.

So where we at?

Barkley - 13 G, 251-1083-8, 4.3 Y/A. 42-261-0, 6.2 Y/R.
Chubb - 13 G, 231-1153-12, 5.0 Y/A. 20-172-0, 8.6 Y/R

That's why I qualify my statements . But I still think it's fair to say that someone scoring 10 TDs over 8 games can remind a fan of other RBs.
