I guess year 2 blasters aren’t a hot commodity like year 1. Still available on Target.com

Ripped open a couple blasters recently out of sheer boredom.
Only notable hit was a Jon Jones pulsar /25 ![]()

FWIW bought two rounds of blasters just for fun.
First purchase was 8 boxes -nothing special but green parallels. Second purchase a couple weeks later was 11 boxes -two /25 Pulsars (Weili $$ and Calvillo). Definitely resist the urge on these unless you're ripping for fun or looking to get a base set built. |

Opened two blasters I ordered from Target. Got a green Prizm Cub Swanson and a few silver from insert sets. Not worth $30/box to me

Tools last few releases for UFC were horrible I thought. Their Knockout product was amazing for the first few years but then they watered it down. The first two are possibly two of my top ten favorite releases for any sports card product ever.

Panini or Topps.
Same crap. Look at baseball. What a disaster and all the garbage in soccer over and over again. |

Panini is way ahead with the overproduction vs quality. Printed more cards in 1.5 years than Topps did in 11. Plus, Panini was all about the shiny bedazzled parallel cards... which really have no substance.

Topps is the one about all the shiny crap. 10 different versions of chrome. ben baller, sapphire, aoik, japan, like fuk. Hobby Panini is actually not produced in large quantities. UD printed 25k hobby cases of Series 1 hockey. That's more hobby than anything topps/panini did. |

Dont give 2 shits about baseball or other sports. We are talking UFC... and in this sport, Panini is the one over producing endless shiny parallel crap.
More cards printed in 1.5 years vs 11 years... not sure how anyone can defend that. Quote:

All of them. If Topps still had the license, we all know what we'd be getting: - Topps UFC paper (parallels) - Topps UFC Chrome (more parallels) - Topps UFC Sapphire (more parallels) - Topps UFC Finest (more parallels) - Topps UFC Roganfractor (even more parallels) - etc. - etc. Those older Topps on card autos are nice, but with the impending Fanatics takeover, let's be real: we would've been hit with a bunch of sticker dumps (see 2020 Topps Striking Signatures). Genuinely curious though - once Fanatics takes over, will you redirect your anger towards them? Or will it still be some imaginary Panini "cult?"

Print runs and parallels are I what am talking about.
- Panini has considerably more parallels in their releases than Topps did... simple fact. - Plus, Panini has produced more UFC cards in 1.5 years than Topps did in 11. Those 2 points are what makes a major difference in a hobby with not many collectors. In addition, compare the releases over the 1st 2 years... Topps had way cooler unique cards. Panini phones it in with bedazzled cards meant for pre-teen girls and gamblers Sure... Topps may have turned on the printing press if they still had the lic... but it was Panini that decided to... and they keep printing and printing. And they charge crazy prices... could buy a Topps case back in the day for what you pay for a Panini hobby box. Sure, panini has a few nice rookies (that Topps would likely have had as well)... but I do not know any serious collector who is set building or buying a ton of panini... they have used this time to acquire more Topps while the clueless newbs chase shiny, sparkly cards named after animals. Fanatics will be interesting... hope they realize the market is on the down turn not go crazy |

Those printers would've gone brrrrrr, and we would be swimming in a sea of shiny UFC parallels regardless of the company producing them. If Topps still had the license, here is what we would be saying: - Topps has considerably more parallels in their releases than Topps used to... simple fact. - Plus, Topps has produced more UFC cards in 1.5 years than Topps did in 11. I just think your hate is misguided. You keep saying you hate Panini (nearly every post over the past couple years - quite impressive actually), but I think you actually hate the current state of the hobby. Which is a valid concern, and one that is shared by many collectors (including myself). I know you don't collect other sports, but go ahead and compare a Topps 2022 baseball checklist to a similar Topps checklist from 2012 and tell me what you see. I do understand the frustration coming from certain MMA card sellers, however. This same thing happened when WNBA Prizm came out (I might be one of the few people on the planet who collects both MMA and WNBA). The WNBA card collecting community used to be very small and close knit. If you wanted to buy a WNBA card on Ebay, you were almost guaranteed to run into the same handful of sellers. After that initial WNBA Prizm set was released during the COVID boom, the market became flooded with shiny WNBA Prizm parallels. Instead of a few trusted sellers, you had a glut of randoms selling their Prizm cards for waaaay more than what older WNBA cards were going for. That really pissed off some of those older established WNBA card sellers. One of them posted a very long, angry rant in the WNBA Prizm thread that was barely comprehensible. Sorry for the long post, drank too much coffee.

Keep in mind the state pf the hobby is in large part due to the mass production and over hyping.... which is all on Panini.
Plus, there is no proof Topps would have made the same ridiculous number of shiny parallels and printed at the same rate... that seems to be a common greedy Panini trait based on your WNBA example. The facts we do have are 11 years of Topps cards vs 2 years of Panini cards. Sure, the market changed... but Panini also did not produce the same types of cool cards that Topps did during the first 2 years. Sticker autos and crappy relics.... nothing new and at 10x the price. Topps didn't even know UFC cards would take off, but they made more of an effort than Panini... which only turned the press up to 11. Whether Topps or Panini.... dont excuse the over printing and endless parallels. It is pure short-term greed at the expense of the collector and hobby. Quote:
