I’d be a buyer if I knew I was getting baseball boxes. It’s all I collect. This is what is hindering me from buying.

It would be great if they told us how many hobby boxes at minimum it is per Megabox. They said “items” which doesn’t necessarily mean wax.

In the past, how did it work? Did it have an undefined x amount of items that added up to purchase price? Or did some have less value some had more? Were mystery big hits like cases or high end boxes like national treasures included, or were they vouchers/redemptions?

Thanks for any information in advance. I already purchased one for the fun of it. I am aware that it is a huge gamble, but that is what makes cards fun. Expectation that it goes horrible, with a huge thrill if it goes well.

I bought two in 2019. At the time, I was disappointed in the results. No major hits. Mostly hobby, some retail blasters. Sold a couple of the boxes at a buddies booth at the National, and busted the rest when I got home. Stuck them in a box and forgot about them.
After the market exploded in 2020, was digging through boxes and found the cards from that "break." The basketball rookies alone more than doubled my money before factoring in anything else. All told, got 3-4x my money back.
Glutton for punishment, we are going back after them again this year.

I’m not going to the national so if I order one of these to be shipped home to me, does anybody know when they will ship? Will they ship after national is over? Or will it ship on the 28th?

What were the boxes you got? What cards were the big hits?

It seems to me that these would ship out prior to the show. The site states, "Get MegaMix delivered to your home the week of the show!"

Yeah looks like you’re right. I missed that. I went ahead and bought one just for the thrill but I’m expecting a few overpriced blaster boxes and maybe a NASCAR hobby box. I guess we’ll see in a couple weeks!

I broke 2 back in 2019....I had 5 boxes in each MegaBox, so nothing big or exciting... But sold all 10 boxes eventually that month and made $15

So at least I didn't lose anything

Think I was the big 2019 winner…Hit a redemption for a 17-18 Flawless NBA box. Ripped the box and pulled a Bam Adebayo 1/1 RPA Logoman. Wish I didn’t sell it then. Got about $6k for it. Had I waited, I could have made at least 2x that.

You didnt always receive 4-5 “boxes”.

This is correct; they were $100 at the 2018 National in Cleveland.

I've bought these both times previously.

I know the hobby changes, pricing goes up but I'm tired of everything being hundreds of dollars to participate in.

These were a blast at $100, they were fine at $200. For a $500 grab bag, makes so much more sense to me to just buy what I want.

I know there are a lot of people in this hobby with a lot of money, and these boxes will sell out regardless so my opinion means nada here, but enough already with everything being so high.

exactly this. It was fun at $200 a few years ago but now its just a stupid expensive gamble

^The box prices are so inflated now. If they put more cases and more high end boxed as the chase items I might consider buying one
