First Buzz: 2020-21 Panini Prizm basketball cards

When the 2012 throwback says it features the top 15 players, I take it that means currently in the league so no retired players or rookies? Or do you think they throw in Lamelo for the money grab?

Just working this out if it's current..

I think they will decide to throw in Lamelo, Edwards and Wiseman.

Hopefully no rookies in the throwback set. It'll increase the value of the set but it feels kinda dirty if it's a subset. If it's an insert. whatever.

Cant wait to see the photos of tents set up outside walmart and targets in the next few weeks. Buddy told me there was a group of dudes waiting outside the store over an hour before it opened today in 35 degree weather.

The big 3 have to be pretty miserable with Panini increasing MSRP to $350 a box. They are now only looking at give or take $32k profit per case on hundreds if not over 1000 cases versus the $34-$35k profit per case they probably thought a few weeks ago they would make. When it rains it pours.

That's it? There is a guy I know at a local Target that takes his family and they take turns 1 sitting at the door other 3 in the car. I've heard from multiple people he gets there 2 hours before the store opening most weeks. Another person claimed he was there 1 day at 4:30 am. The store opens at 8 am. The weather on several of these days the last 2 months has been under 10 degrees and snow.

They rookie class isn't remotely close to last year's. I bet people will be paying over 200 for a base Lamelo the first few weeks. Ungraded poor centering, print marks, etc. Just like Hoops people spending 100+ for a 20 dollar card the first few weeks.

People are nuts. I love collecting cards and opening boxes, but I ain't that committed lol. Good thing I'm taking a step back and just only buying singles. They can have it.

Agreed. This is also the least scouted draft class in a while and they did not get as much practice as previous draft classes. As such, I expect some picks other than Lamelo to improve and become worth something in the future. No idea who, yet, but I feel as though there'll be value to find down the line. I won't be touching Lamelo out the gate.

4 rows down 4th from the left I THINK is Zion. Red jersey in the middle of high flying dunk, would be an in-game shot so makes sense? real blurry though hard to tell

That’s nothing... there’s people waiting 3 hours before target opens here. 30-40 people in line before opening. Haha I was done going to that store a couple weeks ago.
