We should come up with a penalty for anyone who no-shows the auction tonight.

They have to draft Chris Davis and they are only allowed to watch movies starring Gerard Butler for the duration of the season

I should be there, hoping I'm not late. I've gotta work until 7 and its roughly an hour drive home. So I'll be pushing it

Is there any consideration to this being a yearly league with keepers?

Just wanted to be sure before I bid people up.

Ray I wasn't looking for another keeper league, if we do this annually it will be a redraft

No problem. Just wondering. It does help with certain strategies as to whether you want to go balls to the wall on players or go bargain hunting for keeper value.

That was fun. I missed out on some huge bargains by waiting awhile to spend money but I also picked up a bunch of great value elsewhere. I'm happy.

Ohtani, Rosario, Semien, and Brantley available for trade. I'd like a stud SP and/or a stud OF.

Best and worst buys (IMO) and favorite 1.00 bid for each team

Unfinished Tacos

Best Value: Edwin Diaz 3.00 - While closers did last late in the draft, it presented some good value. Given his age and potential for saves with a improved mets lineup - this may end up getting a top 5 catcher for next to nithing

Worst value: Josh Bell 16 - Only because of his second half numbers bring a lot of risk. He does have decent upside and this team didnt have any outstanding guys who were crazy overpaid. Villar in a OBP league loses some value and at 17 could be another. Outside of those two I like the value of everyone drafted.

Favorite 1.00 Bid - Joey Votto. In a OBP roto, you can do worse as a solid bench bat coming off.

Eckstein

Best value: Michael Conforto 3.00 - Just really solid solid value vs what he should of gone for. In a improved lineup he could easily be a top 20 outfielder at less then 2% of total budget

Worst value: Joe Musgrove 5.00 to me just doesnt bring much value in a roto league. Given some of the upper level pitchers later going for a 1.00 this could of been a guy that could of been passed on. Yelich and Soto at 48/49 respectively were a slight overpay - but made up for it with some sick 1.00 buys.

Best 1.00 Buy: Zac Gallen - theres about 4-5 really awesome 1.00 bids, but Gallen takes the cake here for a guy with 200 k potential to be next to nothing was a great wait bid.

Crystal Lake

Best value: Carlos Correa 5.00. Correa, if healthy provides excellent roto #s and at the price point that he was purchased at is a very solid addition. There are some others - Stanton, Ozuna both 10 and under are great buys.

Worst value: Jose Ramirez 33 - I know there was a Ohio theme early in the draft, this could be a boom or bust pick. Just at 33.00 i rather have more security putting that much money to a player.

Best 1.00 guy: And only was Yasiel Puig - this team did well saving money for the 2-10 dollar guys (Syndergaard, Correa, Kopech, Solar, Maeda)

Scottsdale Prospect Rush

Best Value: Gavin Lux 3.00 - For the upside this is exceptional value esp since this wasnt even particularly late in the draft.

Worst Value: Delino DeShields 1.00 - I mean, just a waste of a roster spot IMO. Hader for 22.00 was also very high given prices of other closers.

Best 1.00 buy: Theres a bunch of em, but I like Jorge Polanco/Carlos Martinez

Ohio Commodores

Best value: Didi Gregorious 3.00 - I just can see Didi putting 30-35 hr in citizen bank park (maybe 25-30 if shortened season). Yordan at 25.00 was pretty solid value as well.

Worst Value: Luis Aarez 9.00 - just waiting on 2b could of gotten a guy like Lux at 3.00, i think with Aarez going so early there were just a bidding war on a 2-3 dollar type of guy.

Best 1.00 buy: Hunter Dozier - With 3b/Of eligibility he add some solid bench depth and doesn't hurt really anywhere in a roto league as a plug and play bench bat.

Clown has no

Best Value: This team, much like me for the most part waited for deals, but the deals I particularly like Jt Realmuto 9.00, Mike Soroka 9.00, Michael Brantley 4.00, Eddie Rosario 3.00 are all crazy buys.

Worst Value: Ramon Laurenao 11.00 - Given some of the mid range outfielders like the two mentioned above, he has a bit more risk. In either case, hard to put a bad value bid to him.

Best 1.00 buy: None - but at 3.00 is Marcus Semien which again, could fall to best value easily. Be interesting what he does with all these trade chips (given theres a post right above this i expect a few of these value buys to be used as trade bait)

PA Headquarters

Best value: German Marquez 1.00 - for one of the last 3 players of the draft to still be there - hard to pass up the potential value. Even though didn't really bid vs anyone, I think it holds the best value

Worst Value: Francisco Lindor 41 - Don't get me wrong, Lindors a great player, but at 40 + could of spent out the money more effectively. Lindor, Arenado, Harper and Betts are a great 4 players, but taking 200.00 budget basically of 260 with 4 guys really hindered this teams pitching potential. Betts at 56.00 was also a bit of a overpay IMO

Best 1.00 bid: outside of Marquez Edwin encarnation, Lourdes Gurriel Jr, Mike Minor were all solid buys which were needed to help with the top heavy roster to provide some depth

Pepes Army
Best Value: Wilson Contrares for 1.00. Top 5 catcher for a buck. matt Olson at 7.00 is also exceptional value. Given the teams strategy of investing in upper level pitching (over and over and over again) getting guys like this could help keep in the middle part of the batting roto #s instead of dead bottom.

Worst Value: Acuna 52.00. With this top heavy pitching strat, the 52.00 could of been used to get a guy like springer at 20.00 with 32.00 to put towards the rest of the bats. It will be interesting to see

Best 1.00 guy: Besides Contrares, Kimbrel and segura i think were great 1.00 buys.

Houston Asstros

Best Value: Jose Altuve 25.00 - Understand he has a lot of hate going his way, but hes still arguably the best 2b option in the draft. 25.00 seems like a steal.

Worst Value: Keston Huira 23.00 - Already have one of the best 2b in the game, seems a bit of a overpay for not a major need on the team. Kevin Newman at 5.00 was a bit of a reach as well.

Best 1.00 Buy: Jake Odorizzi and Hector Neris - this team was lacking pitching Depth when the 1.00 buys started to go around, nominating some upside plays with these two were great deals

Me - team cornerstore (which will be changed soon)

Best value: Blake Snell at 11.00, George Springer at 15.00 to me are my best values compaired to what other players went for with similar talent.

Worst value: Sonny gray at 16.00 was a misclick, but could do worse. Nick Madgrigal at 2.00 early on was a waste of 2.00 as guys like Amed Rosario were left undrafted esp since I got max muncy at 3.00 to fill my 2b/ss spot.

Best 1.00 buy: Madison Bumgarner - just upside with a better lineup can get some wins. I dont expect 3.5 era or less, but do expect solid K #s, decent whip and some greater win potential with the dbacks.

Nice reviews.
Obviously, Ramitez for $33 was a homer pick. However I really expect him to have a great bounce back year.

I’m ecstatic with how my Offense turned out being as I had most my money tied up in pitching. Those $1 snags at the end were no joke being that guys panicked early and were grabbing $1 players for 6/7. Lots of strategy. Outside of Flahrety and Degrom I feel like I own the Aces. Sale if he can pitch is a wild card. Of course a guy or two will ball out this year, but having Fried Price and Kuechel as 6,7,8 is w

Yeah I regretted Musgrove as soon as I hit the bid for 5 bucks. Knew I screwed up

Betts at 56 will be looked at as a steal at the end of 2021.
