If you want a better told story that falls along the same lines, listen to the podcast Cold about the disappearance of Susan Powell. Now that is a gut wrenching story.
I hated it too. It's universally acclaimed but I never understood why. How many testimonials from friends and relatives did we need to know that he was a good guy? I was bored senseless.

Kate McKinnon has been tapped to play Elizabeth Holmes in a dramatization of her spectacular rise and fall. Given Kate's comedic talents, it's likely there will be some laughs in it, amidst the ruining of lives and livelihoods.

A recent big-budget film based on a documentary that didn't go over was Steve Carell's "Welcome to Marwen". I thought is was OK, but the source material, "Welcome to Marwencol" was superb.

Truth is often stranger than fiction. The odd tale of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, first explored in the HBO documentary "Mommy Dead and Daddy Dearest" is now being adapted into a Hulu series called "The Act".

But they are industrious. Read a lot of serial killer books back in the 90's and always thought I could never be a serial killer...I'm to lazy.

Well, I'm a bit biased, but my favorite doc right now is Getting Over... but that's because I directed it! Premiered at last year's SXSW Film Festival, and now available on your cable system or most major streaming platforms!

Loose change is full of half truths, deception, and outright lies. It has been edited and rereleased 3 different times in order to avoid litigation from those it slandered. You know this right?

I love American Movie. Uncle Bill was my favorite character! I watched that so much in high school and bought it on VHS.

My favorite was Hoop Dreams...this movie basically set the bar for documentaries as it was among the first made and pretty widely acclaimed. Arthur Agee went to college at Arkansas State where I had season tickets and eventually got 2 degrees from and I got to speak with him several times. He's a super nice guy who has done well for himself. This one will always have the #1 place in my heart!

Cocaine Island (new Netflix re-enacted documentary) - not my favorite, but its a fun one.

Devils Playground (about Amish teens on Rumspringa)
