Who would you have rather got the license and why keeping in mind track record at getting autos and screen worn relics and pulling off a retro design. I of course would have loved to see Topps get more of the cast to sign but I’d like to hear your thoughts and reasoning.

I think the Will Byers is a Hockey design... whatever the year was with Lemieux's RC. Ted Wheeler may be from Cyndi Lauper?

Because of *insert failed set here*. I think these cards look great, but I get that the value at release price hasn't been there. But hey, if people keep buying... (we all know this story)

I spoke to George from Cryptozoic years ago about the Stranger Things license, he said they tried but Netflix had no interest in doing trading cards. Fast forward a bit and Topps announced the first set. Not sure what transpired within that year.

Wasn't a big fan of Season 2, but I am enjoying Season 3 quite a bit.

Literally anybody but Topps. Upper Deck, Cryptozoic, Rittenhouse, whoever. Topps did such a bad job with the Season 1 release that it destroyed any future potential for the product line.

I hear you, but I don't think the earth is quite as scorched as all that. If we're voting, Rittenhouse. They seem to have a facility to get signings lacking by every other manufacturer.

To me, every rittenhouse release looks the same and I do t think they would have gotten the retro look and feel right. Their x-files product was a complete travesty too although many of the others have been thorough if not so visually exciting. Upper Deck makes some great looking cards from a tech standpoint but often is hard pressed to get many of the major signers. I would not have minded if Cryptozoic got a shot at it. It would be awesome to get Winona Ryder, Matthew Modine, Sean Astin, Paul Reiser, John Reynolds, Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin, Charlie Heaton, Natalia Dyer, Dacre Montgomery, Shannon Purser and Maya Hawke to sign.

I wish Crypto or Rittenhouse got the license. Rittenhouse did a nice job on the vintage stock Twin Peaks cards IMO.

I love the show but have no interest in these sets. I prefer on card autos and MBB a sticker ruined it for me personally.

Topps will likely release too much of it too quick and kill what market there is.

They have gotten almost every major Marvel superhero actor to sign at least once. With a few exceptions, I think they generally have good signers. They may not be in huge quantities, but they do get them.

Three sets in the span of one year.

Topps destroyed the value of the product line with the Season 1 release. They did absolutely nothing right.

I respectfully disagree. You had a bad experience with the retail debacle. Design wise it’s straight out of 1983, well written base, great parallels and they did get some real costumes and some major cast to sign. Not perfect by any stretch but I certainly don’t feel like they got absolutely nothing right.

Yes, the retail issue was a bummer. Let’s not forget the other issues.

- Hobby was inexplicably delayed until after retail.
- Dual autos weren’t made.
- Vast majority of the autos in each case were from minor characters with many duplicates.
- Split of sticker and on-card autos, with the biggest name being a sticker auto.
- Too many redemptions (Dustin hasn’t even signed yet).
- Way too many low end sketches and worthless manufactured relics.
- Three insert sets completely devoid of any thought or effort.

If Rittenhouse had the license, none of this would have happened. The drop off in group breaks from season 1 to 2 tells you how people felt about the product. Pretty sure we did 9-10 cases of season 1 between Ian and houdini, and just one case of season 2.

You're right - the Millie Bobbie Brown autos would've only been available as a 10-case incentive.

I'd rather have that than a sp sticker.

Yeechhh. As much as Rittenhouse does right, I absolutely hate that they make the best autos available as incentives.

Generally, the incentives aren't the best autos available IMO.

They use a lot of duals but usually the single main cast is case inserted.

I wish all the incentives were case inserted too, but it is what it is. I'm more concerned with all of the cut autos they have been doing lately and printing extra cases for "special" clients. I hope they got this out of their system with Inflexions.

Wow! a Huge Jump in numbers for Week #2: "Print Run: 325"

That almost doubles the print run of 174 for the first week.

People must've seen the low number for week one and figured to cash in.

According to tracking, should have my week 1 order Wednesday.

I did not even know season 2 had a retail release until this promotion. All the places that carried season 1 blasters like Target & Wal-Mart never carried these season 2 blasters in my area.

Week 2 Print Run: 325

Week 3 Print Run: 200

...very lopsided week 2 purchases

It is just the main 5 kids for the final week. You were at least 2/5 on guesses.

I loved your idea of a Bob Newby Goonies card, what an incredible missed opportunity. I wonder if this idea was even discussed at Topps.

Ok, I virtually never tweet. I only ever created a account to enter some Funko contest years ago, but I had to send this to Topps. I hope I did it correctly.

"@Topps Why was this card never included in your @Stranger_Things
Online Exclusive Set? Where is the Goonies love? #gooniesneversaydie"

I don't know how to tweet either but I wish a bunch of people would tweet at Topps wondering where the heck the Gaten Matarazzo auto cards are at!
