I'm shocked to see this thread was even opened.

Lets start with this: Anyone else see that the DNC is inviting Michael Browns mother to be a speaker? The same Michael Brown caught on camera robbing a store and strong-arming its owner? The same Michael Brown that the Department of Justice said indeed grabbed the officers gun and tried to shoot him? The same mother who stood there as her boyfriend incited a riot?

I'm shocked Hillary and the left have become so anti-police. I get that they cater to that crowd but good lord what is going on here? They aren't even trying to hide their hatred for police.

This is turning out to be a very interesting election. This includes the fact when I first heard Donald Trump was going to run for president I didn't actually think it would last but some how he just keeps on winning. I wonder how this election will be viewed 20, 50+ years from now.

I agree with your assessment on Trump and BLM; they both have basic, good intentions, which used in the correct way, could be extremely productive.

The hate, the racism, the ignorance overshadows it all, though.

There are TONS of absolutely ignorant, horrible people who are voting AGAINST Trump.

But their evil opposites are on the other side.

Trump supporters have attacked BLM protestors (and vice versa), there is video of a group calling for one BLM supporter to be ''lit on fire'', there's spitting, kicking, punching, etc.

My friend, there's ugly on both sides.

Imagine if they focused their attention on the black lives in cities like Chicago and Muskegon Heights, MI (MH ranks a 1 on the Crime Index and for 26 years I lived only a few miles away). You have a 1:55 chance of being a victim of a violent crime there.

Yes, this is true, but they are focusing on the people who are NOT focusing on the well being of it's citizens.

I am of the opinion that MOST of the law enforcement in this country is great, and truly to 'protect and serve' the citizens.

If a group of ordinary citizens has to be formed to raise awareness about the injustice of the police, police brutality, racial profiling, murder due to race/color, ask yourself why?

This shouldn't be happening, so it's being addressed. NOT always correctly, but it's in the media, so it's front page news now.

If you don't think there are activists that have been and STILL are working tirelessly to save innocent BLACK/BROWN lives in the inner cities, you're wrong. But it's not as sensational for the media, and it's also been proven that a police officer's life is more important than an ordinary citizens.

Right/wrong, that's the way it is.

Ask yourself this...why is Joakim Noah known more for a simple, stupid interview he gave regarding how uncool Cleveland was than the work he did in Chicago to curb gun violence and save children's lives?

Well....now you are getting into something entirely different by crying the race card. Typically happens when people run out of ideas and facts. You are making assumptions.

This has led to confrontations and violence by Trump supporters.

The anti-Muslim rhetoric drummed up by Trump has erupted in violence towards innocent Muslim (and non-Muslim) middle Eastern American citizens.

Yes it's a sad truth. I personally know 1 person who was shot at, had a bullet go through his windshield while he was driving, and 1 friend who was murdered in the street while on his Harley following the habitual offenders who stole his brothers car from a bar. Both incidents on the same busy street. Recently, a 16yo boy was found shot to death in someone's backyard.

In Muskegon Heights, you have a 1:13 chance of being a victim of a property crime.

Chicago is the city that is mentioned by most people, or Chiraq, as it's called, I guess, so that is what I was referring to.
