The clue to the potential (or maybe eventual) banning(s) are in this thread - just out of order.

You gotta be a forum forensics investigator to read through the subterfuge.

Homerun, I've got a question. Chicuse very obviously knew it was you all along and bought the lots from you with the sole intention of causing you grief. In light of everything in this thread, I find it hard to believe that you didn't also know it was him in very short order.

Call me a skeptic but did you do the full refund to him knowing it was him and knowing he would still leave you a neg just so that you could start this thread and get him banned? I'm just struggling how you have so much long term beef and how you know all the intricacies of his bidding and the multiple accounts that he used but you weren't able to piece this together until it was said and done.

I'm all for a good internet beef but I'm not sure I buy you as the innocent victim here. I'm not a huge fan of subterfuge, I have much more respect for those that battle face to face.

Edit: Damn, I posted this before reading Houdini's post and see that he beat me to 'subterfuge', the damned Man is always trying to keep me down.

Stain his and his father's 3300+ eBay feedback in exchange for getting someone who posts less than one post per day on here banned.... I don't find that plausible. I do agree that he most likely isn't the innocent victim as he came out guns blazing trying to extort Chicuse and now all of a sudden the issue has been resolved. Hopefully he just decided that it wasn't worth fighting over it, but who really knows at this point.

This whole tickle fight is very confusing (it dates as far back as 2012!?!?)...and throw Houdini's cryptic message on top?

Yeah, I'm going to bed.

Not trying to "stain" anything, I just asked a question based on what I've read in the thread, call it experience. You even "agree" that there is likely something there. To what point? I don't know, that's why I asked.

As for the feedback as proof of purity, c'mon, we've both been around long enough to know that isn't foolproof nor a guarantee of integrity. Besides, a pissed off person is willing to go to great lengths to even a score, even if they aren't a bad person at heart.

Should have clarified, I wasn't saying that YOU were trying to stain their reputation, I meant more as in I did not see why HE would stain his and his father's eBay reputation.

Agree with the bolded, hopefully this gets cleared soon.

I appreciate the irony of an emotionally charged internet feud between two people that PC a guy that recently took scissors to a jersey in protest of his club's uniform selection.

You might want to look into taking scissors to your pink shirt...just saying.

I invited both members to send me their evidence. Neither actually had any.

I was able to piece a few things together myself though.

I will be reinstating homerun's account although I find his claim that he couldn't remember posting attacks on chicuse as far back as at least 2012 to be less than credible.

I will encourage him to post his own eBay account though as he has been called out before for using his father's account.

Quote:

Chicuse chose not to respond to my request.

However, I will post what I found here:

1. Chicuse was accused of being a npb here and on this eBay auction from forum member rookie_gems :

2013 Topps Five Star Chris Sale Auto Autograph Patch Card 14 35 White Sox | eBay

2. Chicuse posts his proof that he actually did pay here:

Quote:
Originally Posted by chicuse View Post

3. However, this "proof" is a lie and it is all right here in the thread.

The first auction is here: 2013 Topps Five Star Chris Sale Auto Autograph Patch Card 14 35 White Sox | eBay

Do you see it?

Two things: the auction ends at $54.00 and is not won by "whitesoxcollection" at all.

Therefore the $36.50 refund to whitesoxcollection is NOT proof that he paid. It actually adds further evidence that he tried to scam this eBay seller.

This first auction is won by l***r( 1534)
US $54.00May-16-16 20:19:57 PDT

This matches his ozziestranslator account: ozziestranslator on eBay

The seller then relists the card here and calls out the npb ozziestranslator:

2013 Topps Five Star Chris Sale Auto Autograph Patch Card 14 35 White Sox | eBay

This time chicuse wins the card again using his whitesoxcollection account for $34.00 ($20 less).

w***s( 268)
US $34.00Jun-04-16 19:19:00 PDT

whitesoxcollection on eBay

The seller then sees that the two accounts belong to the same bidder and refunds him. THAT is the refund he posted above "proving" he wasn't a non-paying bidder.

However, $36.50 is for the second auction - not the first.

To top it all off, chicuse then gives the seller (BO member rookie_gems) a negative even though it was he himself who was scamming:

Seller refunded immediately after payment. Seller's remorse. Stay far away!Buyer: c***i ( 268)
During past 6 months 2013 TOPPS FIVE STAR CHRIS SALE AUTO AUTOGRAPH PATCH CARD #14/35 WHITE SOX!! (#331868214553)

4. It is the connection to the two accounts that made me believe HR knew who he was calling out all along - that with the clear history of bickering between the two on the forum. HR claims he did not know. I actually believe him because I told him to email me his evidence as I was preparing to ban his account - I figured he would tell me at that time if he really knew - he emailed me that he really never had any evidence outside of the eBay npb link that chicuse proved to be false.

5. I do believe that chicuse bought the cards from HR's father believing it was HR and left him a negative as forum revenge. I do not know if the cards were damaged or not though.

However, this fits the actions above also. It also fits this below:

Seller backed out of sale - would not respond to e-mails.Seller: Member id tin_knocker_28 ()
More than a year ago
  • Reply by tin_knocker_28 (May-09-13 14:17):

BOZO NEVER PAID, THEN RE BID ON ITEM ONCE I RE-LISTED AFTER 2 WEEKS. REPORTED!
6. I have banned the chicuse account at this time.

I agree, I came to the same conclusions as he did and would have taken the same actions. Homerun is anything but clean here but didn't do anything ban worthy in my opinion. I'd say that moving forward that he needs to clean up his act. Also, cut the cord with daddy and get your own accounts, it's grown up time.

That's exactly what I was going to post after reading Houdini's rundown.

HR didn't do anything to get banned but jeez...was a petty beef with a rival collector really worth this embarrassment?

Thank you for reinstating me, Houdini. I promise to never cause any more trouble again.

As for my own eBay account, my username is Mikeyboy111. I typically buy Chris Sale autographs and sell the occasional CD or record, but that's it.

In the future, if calling someone out, don't leave out relevant details. Things like, oh I don't know, a four year ongoing feud. It isn't a good look.

Cases like this are why houdini deserves a real pat on the back. It's nice to see the mod team doing due diligence and then having the transparency to go through and explain why the decisions were made.
