Appreciate the grades. From your guys experience is a PSA 7 better than a OC 9? Or vice versa? Thanks again for the input.

I'd think I'd prefer the straight 7. In my mind, if I see a card that's a 7 with that centering, I automatically think "dangg it must be really sharp". Of course 9 (oc) tells you the same thing essentially, but I think the OC qualifier just carries some negativity with it.

Yeah I totally get that. I think a straight 7 would be cleaner too but I’ve been looking at the psa values in the last 2 months and it seems like the 9 (OC) sells higher than the 7’s. You think it’s worth giving up my base mike trout, Griffey, and Luka for the Jordan? Just feel like that card is incredible supply and demand like a babe ruth autograph baseball.

Especially because that photo screams, "1988"

It's an iconic photo from an iconic event (1988 dunk contest). And he's wearing an iconic pair of shoes (Air Jordan III) which most sneakerheads know was the shoe released in 1988.

what I'm trying to get at is the sticker DOUBLING in only the last 30 days.

#57 picked up (again) in sept/oct and has been unbelievable.....don't get me wrong.....but the sticker is in the midst of BONKERS.

I Have a psa 8 #57 and just purchased a PSA 7 sticker today. Both are going to continue to increase in value. People who cannot afford #57 will purchase the sticker instead. Both are great investments in my opinion.

On the regular issue, I've had more success getting 9's into 9.5's + 8's into 9's but almost never on the stickers. They're really tough on surface and so many stickers are diamond cut and BGS kills the centering grade.
I ended up picking a BGS 9 Fleer Stickers a week ago due to the low pop compared to PSA 9 and a tougher grading standards by BGS on Sgtickers.

as 7's go, it was pretty solid.

light staining on back, but nice eye appeal on front, for sure.

quick update on my new "favorite" 2nd yr., #59

psa 9 is at 3k, with 4 days to go. eclipsing the old high of 2.7k.

again, what I really like about this card is the gradual increase,
the affordability in the 6,7,8 range, AND, its "short printed".

again, its not gonna make you crazy rich, BUT, its entry point is GREAT.

it appeals to the flippers and holders; at what point, if it hasn't started already, are the #57's, the stars, the stickers going to turn to this card as a
viable alternative ??

I hope I have helped the "everyman" collector. b/c this card reminds
me of WHY I even like/love (LOL) cards
. i.e. looking at/ finding those hidden gem 6,7's, and 8's, with superior eye appeal. and it doesn't break your pocketbook.

It's FUN !!!

Just for clarity as you have brought it up a couple times in this thread. The 87 Jordan #59 is NOT short printed. The 87 Fleer set in general has a lesser print run than the 86 Fleer set based on the fact that 86 sold so poorly at introduction, but that #59 Jordan is not short printed as compared to every other card in the set. It’s a great looking card for sure.

They were sticker prices but I got a better deal buying those 3 at the same time. The other two jordans I got from two seperate places.

A BGS 9.5 min gem mint sold for 70K yesterday, the highest recorded sale for a BGS min gem mint thus far. Prices have almost doubled since I purchased mine last month (Dec 16th)
