It just sucks right now. I hate when cruiserdaddy says i was "Suckered in", but I was, and I'm to blame. It's guys like me that need to stop buying this crap.. If there are 500 of me in this club, and we stop buying into it, maybe it would affect the bottom line for Topps, but probably not. I enjoy ripping wax, I collect, I have a great PC.. Maybe singles is the way to go. I guess this club membership lasts the year. They have time to make it right to a sheep like me, but i'd be surprised if they did.

Default Topps Brooklyn Collection

Mine came today, six cards. nothing special but could have been worse. Thought I would at least get one rookie and an /5 though. Luckily I received decent color combinations I dont mind keeping a few and collect Bob Gibson. Cards are way better looking in person but obviously over priced. Im done buying this kind of stuff and Topps Now but was fun to dream of an Ohtani 1/1.

Im open to trading as well except for Bob Gibson.

On the bright side, probably will be lots of cheap singles on eBay

Honestly, I think the cards look nice. I also think anyone busting at $1,000 a box is insane.

I will say condition on these is great, autos are clean..but I can only polish this turd so much. Redeemed the Koufax and hope it will be a nice add to the PC. Not selling anything, why bother, there ain’t no $300 winners in there, I’ll just keep ‘em.

If anyone from Topps is reading this, this is for you: your company needs to right this wrong you have done to people who paid $1000 for this product. You should have given buyers at least an option to pick 3 players we collect and send us one of them. I sent you an email stating I collect Trout, Soto, and Ripken, thinking you’d at least slide me a Ripken..nope, you just used the automated system and sent it out. Many of us who joined this club have the disposable income to spend a lot on your products. I open personal cases regularly and don’t post “results” in the forum, but a lot is spent. I’m the prototypical customer you desire, yet you are about to lose me (low 6 figure income, married but no kids, money to spend)..I DO feel like the Jim Carrey character in “Dumb and Dumber” now, and it’s all my fault.. I’ve been loyal to you to a fault. But this is it. I’ll find another hobby, or just buy basketball singles or something. You need to contact people who joined this club, paid the $1000, and take care of them. Honestly, just ask us who we collect and send us an on card Auto of that player, a nice one, even a Dynasty one, you can afford to do it. Make this right to your loyal consumers.
I don't see why they should. Just call it a loss and boycott future products before seeing a checklist

It was clear early on this product would be a bloodbath. Some took the gamble anyway. They have no one to blame but themselves. Learn from this mistake and be more careful in the future. Blindly giving a company money is almost never a good idea.

I speak from experience. I've been burned before and have significantly cut my Topps budget. In the past I've spent $20k+/year on this hobby, but I've become MUCH more selective. Topps lost my trust long before the Brooklyn Collection.

How many baseball players actually have an on-card autograph card that sells for $200?

Got my box today. Most of the cards look great in person, with good quality control. Like almost all, I’ll lose on the proposition, but got 6 hits and some nice cards

Gleyber /10 redemption
Clemens /5
Sanchez /5
Piazza /15
Altuve /15
McCutchen /15

Just quickly looked up Aaron that sold /25. Assume many other will have similar results. 20 have sold for $150-$200 the last few months. There's only 13 on your list vs. the 50/55 in BC. I assume many of those in your list are more expensive to sign. If they trim the fat how do they made up the revenue wanted? Be like Moments and Milestones and print so many 1/1 they're a joke?

If looking nice is what cards were based on, stadium club would be number 1

It could be that Torres' cards came in too late to boxed up but were on hand to take pictures. Could be a fast turn around for people redeeming the card.

I don’t think people are having an issue with how the cards look, so it’s more of an issue with the cost and less than amazing roll out of this product. Or lack there of more specifically. It seems like an ill-conceived cash grab, which I guess is an oxymoron???

the real issue for Topps is a bet they make that the perfect high end set of beautiful cards will bring more value to vet autos than of vet autos in other sets. This happens with higher end basketball cards. For example a flawless patch Kobe auto /5 could have upto 20x more value vs Kobe absolute auto patch auto /5. In baseball no matter what topps trys to do (ie the mint, Brooklyn collection) to get collectors in a similar place as basketball it doesn’t happen. For example I find in baseball a Koufax on card auto /5 in 2018 compared to to a Koufax on card auto high end /5 will bare be a slight premium for a higher end good looking one. we are talking 10%-20% max difference in value.

I am actually really rooting for collectors to make these high end vet auto cards redicolusly more valuable than one you’d find in the next 100 dollar a box product - I think it be great for the hobby in that it will actually give purpose to high end baseball cards to compliment all the bowman products for draft picks.

Seems like sellers are trying with all the crazy high BIN prices being put on these cards on ebay. But nothing at all is selling. Looks like only two of these auto cards have actually sold.

You mean $950 for a deGrom 12/25 Auto is too high?

They priced it correctly as they dont care if you want to sell it...
They sell to the end consumer.
If you want to sell it, then you lose.
If you dont sell it and keep what you own, then you dont actually lose anything.
Its when you sell, you lose.

Yep - they have your money, they are done. I’m happy they lost me a few months back. They got my $200 to be a member of this, but I avoided this $1,000 debacle.
