Why would you spend even $7K on something with an ugly ass auto? Might as well save your money. The guy who bought that auto messaged me and literally asked "is that auto as nice as it looks? Can I get additional pictures?." Apparently he feels the same.

Also right now is about the worst time to run an auction for a high end card like that on eBay. I'm not going to be a numbers guessing professor, but my guess is that it sells for more when baseball is not forgotten.

I think he got the same guy to buy his Ohtani Transcendent 1/1 auto for something stupid like 150k too. Perfect timing to unload an obscure rare card with no historical pedigree. What a crazy time 2021 was! I still think we haven't seen the peak for sho prices, but it definitely jumped the shark last year (many things did).

Shoutout to stangy24 for selling me a clean copy of the foilboard (the one he previously posted in this thread). I know a lot of people don't trust raw cards, but there are good sellers out there. Now I have two in the right slab!

Anyone check out the Ohtani super nova insert? I hate the whole cosmic set but the super novas remind me of 90s basketball inserts when they were actually good! Only 116 copies including all parallels, so if you snooze, you lose. I may or may not have bought one, full disclosure.

No shame in that, brother. I really think Topps' bastardizing of the foilboard really deflated the pedigree of the card (it used to be one of THE cards for 2018 RCs), but I think people will rationally look back long term and it will get it's due. Fine 9 plays

I'm being extremely picky...I like the card but the picture they used for Ohtani is weird. He has a super strange facial expression. For a SSP that commands big $, the picture should have been better.

That's fair, it's not his best photo for sure. I guess I'll know for sure if it was still worth it when it's in hand.

Out of this Orbit reminds me of the topps fire image which is so similar. Topps being like Panini and using almost same images for different inserts 🤷#@♀️

Been on a buying spree! Bought this card on Ebay knowing it was not a base card, but the Sky blue variant. Is it worth sending to PSA to be re-labled? I mainly buy raw, but after following a bunch of listings I have noticed a bunch of PSA 9 cards selling below raw.

I would use the PSA Customer Request Center and see if they will make the change for free....one, it would drive me nuts to have a mis-labeled card, two, if and when you decide to sell it, you will want the right label on there.
