Yeah they are still really cheap, and definitely all over the place. As far as raw...I see some go for $26 and $35, then a $42, then a $23 and then there was a 10 count lot this morning that averaged out at $50 per (maybe because of the quantity.)

Some I have missed because the title didn't have it in there, so that could be part of it? Or e-bay's change in some of the search/descriptions last week?

Friendly heads up, (not my card) there is a TCU Blue Refractor on Mercari for 300. Doesn’t seem like a bad buy if you are priced out of the TC Blues. Don’t have extra cash to spend at the moment and would love to see a BO member snag it if they are interested.

From what I’m seeing paper in general is tanking overall across the board for ultra modern baseball.

Well, that’s just...dumb. Paper is the way to go, people! (Well, both paper and Chrome are fine options.)

Not all hope is lost, though. Check out the Tatis Independence Day PSA 10 that’s currently up for auction. And the big ‘uns from ‘18 flagship don’t seem to be hurting too much.

I’m sticking with my theory that the Chrome surge is driven by the more aggressive investors (i.e. newbies who want to throw their money at the first sign of success), and that the more traditional collectors wait to make sure a player is for real.

A creased Sapphire auctioned tonight for $278. I wonder if Topps ran out of replacements and either sent back creased ones as replacements, or do they put a sticker over the top if they return the same card to you?

I’ve sent one card into Topps for replacement. It was denied and returned to me and had the sticker added. Impossible to know this particular situation, but that is a possibility.

I FINALLY replaced the gold Sterling that I traded to eye4talent awhile back. Thanks to Keyser Soze for selling me the blue!

I love the blue sterlings... I feel like Sterling is an incredibly underrated set, and they look gorgeous! It goes really nice with my Tatis

I'm trying to get some paper, but I'm struggling to figure out values as they are all over the map. My buddy has a Topps Rainbow Foil in BGS 9.5 with 4x9.5. Really nice card, but no idea what is a fair price right now. I am thinking abut $150, but even then, that could be a bit high. One recently sold for over $200, but that is the same price as PSA 10's, so a bit of a fluke.

I ended up pulling the trigger on a rainbow foil. $155 on COMC using my credit seemed like an OK deal. Probably worth just under $150 on eBay is my guess for a true gem

Vlad is locked in. I love that he is hitting to all fields and although he can obviously crank some mammoth shots to left, he is still more than capable of sending one in the bleachers in right.

I didn’t get a chance to watch the game tonight, but I happened to glance at his hot/cold zones on ESPN’s stat tracker tonight and it’s a sea of red other than the low/away corner.

It’s pretty clear that Vlad has found his groove. If he keeps his current approach, he’s going to have a heck of a year and he’s also going to draw a TON of walks.

Well....got him at 30-1 odds to start the season to win MVP. I tried looking for anything just to win the Batting Title but couldn't find one. Lets see if this pans out.

If the season ended today, my guess is that Ohtani would get the votes, just because people are all geeked up about the novelty of what he’s doing.

That said, give me Vladdy!

Bogaerts, Yordan, Jose Ramirez, and somebody from the White Sox will likely be in the mix at the end of the year. And I’ll throw in Ramon Laureano as a trendy dark horse.

But Bogaerts, like you said, will get cancelled out by J.D. and Devers; Ramirez will just be that “30/30 guy” on a ho-hum Cleveland team; Yordan’s performance will be discounted because he’s primarily a DH; the White Sox guy (Abreu, Moncada, or Mercedes) won’t come close to matching Vladdy’s numbers; and Laureano won’t have a chance—he’ll just be fun to talk about because he embodies the spirit of those pesky A’s.

So there it is: it comes down to Vladdy’s young Pujols impersonation vs. Ohtani’s Babe Ruth impersonation.
