It probably would’ve ended lower if I didn’t take a low risk swipe at it. It is crazy to end these auctions on a Saturday. Wonder how it’ll affect the rest of the market seeing as how the games are coming to a close tomorrow.

Congrats on the hit! Outside of the superfractor (and possibly black), the US Flag /76 is my favorite parallel. I think they nailed it with the card design, it's so beautiful in-hand.

I never understand why people auction cards that are incredibly liquid (at strong prices)...and on a Saturday night?!

I see that you're in the Bay Area. Any chance you went to a local card show in Concord last week? I met someone there who had recently (at the time) picked up a Phelps Champions US Flag auto.

No, I didn’t know there was one! I’ve been dying to go to a show. Alas, I bought my Flag Champs auto on eBay.

My kids are swimmers and I bought multiple copies so they could have one for their collection. It’s worked well over the years and the kids love their collections. My son treasures the Frank Oz/Yoda Widevision auto I got him when he was 2. Luke’s 13 now. I bought it for only $200. It’s worth way more. Better than a savings bond!

Yeah - that card is going to attract a lot of interest. I think 6 figures should be the expectation.

Important note about this card - it's a 1/1 like you rarely see. There are no other parallels (/5, no /10, and so on). This is the only 1. Tie in that it's commemorating an Olympic gold medal and who knows.

Im lucky with the blasters I found another 10 at 2 barns and noble cheapest place to buy so 5 at each barns and noble. No notable # cards but 2 case hits and 2 autos

I wonder how long it will take Topps to fill the redemptions for all these Topps Now autos. The print run on card 26 is going to be astronomical.

Also, I thought Topps Now was strictly a print-to-demand system. They had Mallory Swanson auto cards available (however briefly) at $199.99 a pop. All numbered to 99 or lower. Supposedly available from 8/11 to 8/24 but sold out by the time I saw the email. Clearly not print-to-demand.

Unnumbered are print to demand with parallels/autos inserted randomly.

The Swanson auto isn’t print to demand because they’re all already numbered and it’s a stated print run.

Interesting. Thanks. Seems more like Topps Later than Topps Now. That first card says it ships in 114-240 business days. And the Mallory Swanson card says it ships in 80-100 business days.

You're not wrong. In some rare instances, Topps Now cards have turned into "Topps Never" where Topps was unable to follow through on their end (e.g. unable to secure autos or memorabilia).

They are on card autos. As such, the entire process is going to take time. And as you can imagine, the first thing Mallory Swanson does once returning home won't be signing cards for Topps.

These on card autos that are /99 or less are great. You get the element of a chase, as you have a chance to hit a low #'d parallel. I love what Topps is doing with these. Of course it's going to take a few months before these ship. That seems like common sense, given what they are producing.

If I’d seen the auto card before it sold out I probably would’ve bought one. I just didn’t realize that Topps sometimes uses Topps Now to sell cards that are limited and not print to demand.

I was surprised it sold out so quickly. It was $199, which to me was too high a price to take a shot. When I saw the email I was thinking I'd be a buyer at $150 or less, but after seeing the $199 price I decided to pass.

same...although, my price point was probably lower than $150, so i obviously don't know much since it did sell out so quickly.

trying to decide if I want the curry/lebron/durant card just to keep 1...
looking at the archives, I missed out on a couple of others, so hopefully, will get it on the cheap on ebay

If you want one of the triple’s and don’t care about one of the chase cards just wait until they show up on eBay. That card will likely break the Topps now record for print run. A lot of them will be available for cheaper on eBay post delivery.
