You took it in a very negative way. It's as if you don't understand the art of subtle conversations on the court, which often involve a wise put down. You think I took your ball and am keeping it from you, when I too can purchase a Shai PSA 9 Prizm on eBay, or face the chagrin of having self graded it a 10 and having it come back a 9. If you had put up a raw Prizm purple from back in the day I would have nothing to say.

It's something I've been thinking a lot, as I look at Nesmith sales patterns (as we start to have enough data on the Bay to make reasonable assumptions). The way that a PSA 10 Prizm silver sells for more than what I paid for a Mosaic gold (disco, yes, but thankfully not green swirl) rookie yesterday. If people bothered to grade Nesmith*, which they are probably increasingly starting to do, thousands of attempts at a 10 would populate the bay. While there would still be three Mosaic subsets that I find significant, representing around 50 total cards: gold, gold disco, and nebula.

True to form, the 8/10 disco gold Mosaic did not sell for more than a week because it had a seller-disclosed print line. So not gradable.

*Or pick your player, if you don't like the player example. Though I did look around at several other 20-21 rookies and found that while a few /10 green swirl sold (rightfully) as cheaply as nebula, there was no gold disco data to go by.

I think Ant vs SGA is a great debate. Every team would take both over Brunson. Unfortunately, I think Ant is the only of the 3 that has some sort of hobby value.

I am holding off judgment on Brunson. But the way he took a tired limping team and started doing uber-physical block outs on Nesmith every play, just wearing him down with a marginal starter named McBride. Phenomenal.

Also give Brunson New York. Once you own a market like that, your card probably never goes down.

I think Indy probably wins next game because they will out-physical the Knicks when they get their backs up, but the series is in the air. If McBride keeps doing that, 1) knock him down a few times and then get the ticky tack fouls against Bruh 2) catch them off balance with other players, cause McBride shadowing Nesmith all day does basically place him on defense and negate his offensive presence.

Only 1.5 days rest after G6 so NY better close out Friday.

I just found a 400-count box of base Shai rookies, all sleeved, tucked away in a bin from when I moved 3-4 years ago. Nothing amazing, but there are at least 300 or so in there. It’s making me want to dig around and see what else I can find!

Until he does, he's in the Stockton/Malone/Wilkins/Ewing/Barkley/Iverson/Doncic/Embiid group of great players who never won a title, i.e. a level below the GOATs.

To get to the next level - sure. But I would argue he's still early enough in his journey that there's room to grow in the short term, especially with a likely long playoff push ahead of him.

I'm right there with you. I never bought any Shai, but I pulled a TON of his stuff during his rookie year including his Optic Fast Break Gold Holo numbered to 10 which I believe sold for $350 at the time. Also had his Blue Prizm, Red Prizm, Prizm Auto, Revolution Auto, Optic Auto, just to name a few
